Cardi B has been named as Playboy's first Creative Director in Residence. In a statement made on Playboy's Instagram account on Thursday, the 29-year-old Grammy winner stated, "It's a dream come true to officially join the Playboy family. I can't believe this is real."

She went on to say: "For as long as I can remember, I've felt connected to Playboy. It's truly the original platform for uncensored creativity and I'm inspired by its incredible legacy of fighting for personal freedoms. I have so many ideas already – I can't wait!" A collage of the "WAP" rapper wearing a big diamond-encrusted Playboy Bunny necklace accompanied the post.

What a dream!! im getting the party started as the Founding Creative Director and a founding member of CENTERFOLD the new creator-led platform from @playboy. I'm so excited for everything that's coming”

In addition to joining the Playboy brand as its Creative Director in Residence, the "Bodak Yellow" rapper will be a founding member of Centerfold, Playboy's creator-led digital platform.

While commenting about Centerfold, she remarked, “Creators today deserve to express themselves freely and unfiltered. They deserve to feel safe in their creativity and sexuality. And they deserve to own their future. This is what CENTERFOLD is all about. For all those creators out there doing bold, revolutionary, truly culture-shifting things, come join me.”

Soon after the announcement, Cardi B fans flooded her social media with congratulatory messages. One fan said, "Yess I am soo proud and happy for you," while another wrote, "Omfg congrats Cardi B. You do it all." One tweeted, "CARDI! I am so happy for you, YOU DESERVE THIS MORE THAN ANYONE EVER. PLBY Group CEO Ben Kohn said in a statement, "Cardi B is a creative genius, and we are incredibly happy and privileged to bring her great ability and creative vision to Playboy. Cardi B is the essence of the Playboy brand, with her unabashed devotion to free expression, dedication to elevating artistic voices, and celebration of sex and body acceptance. I'm excited to see what Cardi and our team come up with using our merchandising, development, and distribution skills, as well as our best-in-class content creation. I can't imagine a greater creative genius collaborating with us on the launch of CENTERFOLD. CENTERFOLD will shake up the creative economy in the same way that PLAYBOY magazine did nearly 70 years ago - and Cardi is the appropriate shepherd into this new age."

Centerfold allows producers to communicate directly with followers online while also serving as an e-commerce platform for customers to buy Playboy items and merchandise. Ben Kohn, Chief Executive Officer of PLBY Group Inc., the business that owns Playboy, said, "Our new creator-led service, Centerfold, will build upon Playboy's long history providing leading voices with a safe platform for creative expression."

PLBY Group Inc. completed its $30 million acquisition of Dream, a social content platform, in October and would allegedly build Centerfold on Dream's technology backbone.
