Cannes 2019 Day 8 red carpet: Josephine Skriver, Sonam Kapoor and Adrien Brody lead the best-dressed list
Day 8 of Cannes 2019 saw celebrities dressed to the nines as the crème de la crème of the filmmaking world stepped onto the red carpet for the premieres of Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' and Bong Joon-ho's 'Parasite' on Tuesday.
Here are some of our favorite looks of the day:
1. Winnie Harlow
Harlow took center-stage in an eye-popping short Jean Paul Gaultier minidress. The bold scarlet number featured layers of tulle which formed an asymmetric neckline and a dramatic single sleeve. The dress also boasted a delicate train which fell to the floor and perfectly framed the star’s legs.
Although there was a slight wardrobe malfunction, Harlow continued unperturbed.
Styled by Anna Trevelyan, the model paired the outfit with de Grisogono accessories and silver Jimmy Choo stilettoes. The whole look was well put together and we love this sexy take on the 'Lady in Red'.
2. Dakota Fanning
Dakota Fanning looked radiant on the red carpet in a ballroom noodle-strap gown by Armani Prive. A yellow sash tied around her waist into a bow showed off her slim waistline. She picked an eye-catching neckpiece, matching earrings and a pretty watch to complete her look. The dress also had pockets! Dakota clearly loved the dress as she called it her 'Dream Dress' on Instagram.
3. Michelle Rodriguez
Michelle Rodriguez shunned her signature edgy look in favor of an off-white fairy tale-inspired ballgown, embellished with fringe detailing throughout. The actress turned heads in the beautiful gown from the Rami Kadi Couture SS19 collection. The dress had a voluminous full skirt and plush white feather plumage. She accessorized it with a Piaget cuffed-choker neckpiece.
Rodriguez is truly the woman of our dreams and looks straight out of a fairy tale.
4. Zhang Ziyi
Zhang Ziyi looked absolutely stunning in a Zuhair Murad black couture gown and Chopard jewelry. The black tulle gown had intricate sequined detailing and was cinched together at her waist with a black leather belt. The plunging neckline which was covered in lace gave a very tempting vibe.
This wasn't a little black dress, the way Ziyi is pulling it off, it should become a wardrobe essential.
5. Adrien Brody
Adrien Brody wore a black tuxedo with a navy blue striped shirt and a black bowtie. Brody looked incredible and was one of the best-dressed men at the premiere.
6. Madalina Diana Ghenea
Madalina Diana Ghenea looked radiant in a Georges Hobeika Haute Couture SS19 white embellished dress. She kept the makeup and jewelry simple and let the dress do all the talking. The embellished headband was the cherry on top of the cake and perfectly complemented her princess vibe.
7. Sonam Kapoor
Kapoor sported a custom made pantsuit by her favorite designer Ralph and Russo, which made for the perfect way to make a power statement. We love how she styled her look with a simple bun, classic winged liner, and nude lips. She wore the pantsuit with Jimmy Choo stilettos and Chopard emerald neckpiece. The neckpiece was layered and was the perfect touch of color for the entire outfit. The pantsuit had a train which added oomph to the entire look.
Kapoor definitely was one of the best dressed of the day.
8. Josephine Skriver
Skriver attended the 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' premiere wearing a custom strapless dress with 150,000 pink Swarovski crystal embroideries. She accessorized it with a choker and studded earrings and wore nude stilettos. The dress complimented her figure and she looked absolutely stunning. This is one of the best looks at the festival.
9. Soo Joo Park
Soo Joo Park wore a white two-piece pantsuit. The halter-cowl neck top and the checked trousers looked absolutely perfect. She wore the pants with an embellished belt. She wore a silver stud encrusted neckpiece and a matching bracelet. The makeup was transcendent with the silver eyeshadows and she chose a bold red lip to complete the look.
Out of all the white pantsuits we've seen during the festival, this one is definitely on the top ranks.
10. Tilda Swinton
Swinton opted for her typically edgy style in a cream two-piece. She wore a cream satin suit from Chanel fall 2019 line. Injecting a hint of pizzazz to her look, the star added a silver Plume de Chanel diamond brooch to her satin suit. She paired them with metallic heels while opting for minimal accessories to ensure the focus remained on her outfit. With her hair styled into an elegant updo, Swinton complemented her porcelain complexion with blush-swept cheeks and a slick of red lipstick.
