Clearing the air about the affair, the self-proclaimed relationship expert responded to explosive allegations by Candice De Medeiros of him being involved with her while still married to his wife, Da’Naia Broadus.
Every story has two sides to it and both Candice and Jaxn's words seem to paint a picture of what really happened during and after the affair. The word on the street began when his rumored mistress sat down with blogger Tasha K and claimed that she had an affair with the social media influencer. Divulging details about their brief romance, she said Jaxn flew her down to Miami, Florida, for a weekend getaway in July 2020 for his birthday.

If Candice's version is to be believed, the millionaire-playboy planned a Miami getaway with her last July. Wooing her with fine dining and expensive gifts, Jaxn brought her to his Atlanta home he shares with his wife and kids.
Not just that, Jaxn's alleged mistress also showed receipts of her rendezvous, along with a cozy snapshot on the bed with his wife in their Atlanta home. De Medeiros also said he sent her over $1000 during the short affair during the podcast.
Jaxn convinced her he had separated from his wife and she saw moving boxes in the home so she couldn’t help but believe him. Revealing how she got to know the truth about his marriage, Candice spilled the beans on how she became suspicious when Jaxn only wanted to communicate via Snapchat. Candice then quoted Jaxn, who allegedly said, “I’ve done stuff in the past. She hurt me. I hurt her. I cheated on her and even till this day she doesn’t know.” Candice was then blocked from all his social media platforms.

In an explosive 30-minute video, Jaxn addressed all the allegations. He said he unofficially separated with his wife Da’Naia around early February 2020, a fact he said many did not know. “February 1 is the official, mutual. I said, ‘look, I don’t think that this is going to work, separation... That was February 4, the exact same day Da’Naia, my wife, packed up the kids and left the crib and went 1,500 miles away to her mom’s crib,” he said.
In a video titled ‘Did I Cheat In My Marriage?’, he also disclosed that he and Candice “had a sexual relationship without actually having sex.” Jaxn added, “I never slept with her. Our relationship was sexual in nature from day one. I’ve been acquainted with her for nine or ten years or something like that. It was like through Twitter, but I did not sleep with her... I hit her up because we’ve always been able to do that — just keep in contact, just talk, just flirt and keep at that.”
In the past, Derrick has often expressed his love for his wife. Back in 2018, he had tweeted, “I have one baby momma, and she's my wife. Now, will you be as quick to spread the truth as you were to spread rumors you never fact-checked? Admit you're ignorant? Think before you tweet? Nah. God bless y'all tho.”

One fan posted on her recent photo, “I knew you were telling the truth about everything and you’re not to blame in this at all. He misled you and then tried to cover it up. He had no right to disturb your peace. Hope you heal God bless.” Another wrote, “I love your vibe!😍 I’m thankful that you exposed the fuckboy who fooled thousands of women while making money. As the controversy gained steam, Derrick's wife looked calm and composed as she held his hand in the video. Shedding light on 12 years of knowing each other, she said, “There is nothing I don't know about and we have moved forward from it. He continues to seek guidance and that is what I need to stay in the marriage. Today, I am at peace and probably stand by his side. I have no hesitation, hate, or shame.”
