Camila Cabello blasted over dancer's blackface on Jimmy Fallon show: ‘Tired of this racist'
Camila Cabello released her brand new single called ‘Don’t Go Yet’ on Friday, July 23, and debuted her live performance on the same on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' with a bunch of background dancers. The ‘Senorita’ hitmaker was all over the internet hours after her performance on the Fallon show as she faced backlash over a White background dancer with a tan face.
The 24-year-old crooner was first brutally dragged on Twitter for roping in a White dancer whose skin appeared much darker in his stage makeup. The Latin Grammy winner then took to her Twitter to address the backlash but that did not go down well either with social media users as they claimed it did not seem like an apology. Cabello has been time and again accused of being racist in the past. Most recently when she announced her new single ‘Don’t Go Yet’ on the same day of the release of her former Fifth Harmony bandmate Normani’s solo debut single ‘Wild Side’.

Camila dragged over her apology
After drawing flak over getting a White man to appear dark in her latest performance, Cabello took to Twitter with an intention to calm down the social media users. She shared the picture of the White background dancer and posted an apology saying, “"hey! so this dude was just supposed to be a white man with a terrible spray tan. we purposefully tried to pull together a multicultural group of performers, the expectation was not that everyone in the performance needed to be Latin.”
She further said, “There are white people, African American people, latin people, etc. and so the point wasn't to try to make everyone look Latin either. There are a lot of people in the performance who are not. The point was to try to make each person look like an over the top 80's character just like in the video, including a white dude with a terrible orange spray tan.” Before she got dismissed on the internet, the award-winning songstress had also posted a tweet sharing her performance on the show with the caption, “on my team we try to create a culture of kindness, joy, & love & you could feel that this week. none of this could be possible without the dream team that makes it happen & the fans that continue to support.”

‘When are we going to cancel Camila Cabello?’
As soon as Cabello shared her apology on Twitter, people lost their cool and crucified the singer on Twitter. One user stated, “When are we going to "cancel" Camila Cabello the way we're cancelling about Billie Eilish. Wrote racist tweets when in a girl band with a black member, allowed a backup dancer to do blackface in her performance. F**k her Dehydrated Rachel Berry a**.” Another furious user said, “You’re very weird making an excuse to deflect from black people being offended and weirded out by your idea. I guess it’s a coincidence that you chose a racist to have the “tan.” One more said, "god i’m tired of this racist b***h."
The next one stated while sharing the real photo of the dancer, “Camila Cabello performed on Jimmy Fallon and I immediately realized that one of her dancers that appeared to be black is actually white. This is completely NOT ACCEPTABLE!! THIS IS BLACK FACE. During rehearsals didn’t she notice that? Look at the differences on both pictures.” Meanwhile, another posted, “This doesn’t make any sense, you need to APOLOGIZE. i’m a black girl and I felt very offended and disappointed with this.” One user added, “All them days @Camila_Cabello spent in racist rehab and conversion therapy...and ha a** did blackface on her first day out, and referred to black people as African American people....yeah she going back to rehab. Praying for her downfall.” One individual concluded, “Woman, so you should have hired black and black dancers and not spray. you are conniving!”
