Britney Spears' manager Cade Hudson wants singer to revive music career, staged intervention during Mexico trip
LOS CABOS, MEXICO: Britney Spears’ manager and friend, Cade Hudson, reportedly staged a career intervention for the musician during their recent trip to Mexico. Hudson made the move with the aim of convincing Spears to return to music in the wake of the end of her 13-year-long conservatorship, the Daily Mail reported. Hudson and Spears were recently spotted together after they touched down at a private airport in Los Cabos, Mexico.
While the ‘Baby One More Time’ singer shared fun moments from her getaway with Hudson through several selfies and clips, including a wild dance video on the 2013 song 'Blurred Lines,’ the duo reportedly had serious conversations about the former’s future and new career endeavors, inside sources told the outlet. The latest update comes days after Spears ditched her wedding ring and was spotted without the bling while taking a flight to Hawaii with Hudson.

In the wake of the sighting, rumors of Britney Spears having marital troubles with her husband Sam Asghari made the rounds online. The latter also remained absent from Spears’ Mexican vacation with Hudson. Insiders later clarified that Asghari failed to join his wife on the trip due to work commitments. “Sam is working on a project and [Britney] is on a vacation with Cade,” a source told the publication.
‘She became like a family to him’
Former talent agent Cade Hudson reportedly wants to see his client and longtime friend Britney Spears getting back to doing what she loves. “Cade wants to see Britney get back to doing what she loves to do, as she is a talented artist. He knows that she is still passionate about this,” an insider told The Daily Mail. “He wanted to have a career intervention and, at the same time, really help her to get back to herself. He told her she cannot throw in the towel yet and he has reminded her of who she really is,” the source added.
“Their time together has been super special and relaxing and has been eye opening for her, to say the least,” the insider said while opening up about the bond between Hudson and Spears. The source also said, “Working with Britney during her rise to fame has been one of Cade's proudest accomplishments in life. In the process, she became like family to him.”
Britney Spears went on an indefinite work hiatus in 2019 after the end of her Las Vegas residency tour and the middle of her conservatorship battle. The singer has hardly released new music in the past few years, except for a few collaborations, including the 2021 hit, ‘Hold Me Closer,’ with Elton John. Her last album ‘Glory’ was released in 2016.
‘Enough is enough’
Cade Hudson reportedly remained one of Britney Spears’ trusted individuals during her conservatorship battle with her father Jamie Spears. Back in 2021, the former took to social media to deny rumors of playing a part in the conservatorship arrangement that gave Spears’ father complete control over her professional and personal life. “I’ve kept my mouth shut for 12 plus years on Britney. Enough is enough. After getting thousands of death threats, getting water bottles thrown at my head in bars from bystanders telling me I'm brainwashing her - Britney I'm now speaking up,” Hudson wrote in a now-private Instagram post.
“Britney who was accused of some errors as a new mom at 26 with 100 cameras in her face daily waiting to document any wrong move she did gets placed under a never-ending conservatorship. Sexism at its best. This is a violation of someone's basic human rights that were taken away,” the agent said while addressing the singer’s public breakdown in 2007.
Hudson further explained, “I've kept my mouth shut out of the fear of losing my job as her agent and losing the career I worked my a** off for 15 years to build, out of threats from the man we all know who, but I won't even dignify mentioning his name. I’m officially done being quiet.” Britney Spears also appointed Cade Hudson as her manager after he served as her agent for over 10 years. The move came following the singer’s former manager Larry Rudolph's resignation from his role.
