ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA: Hollywood star Dev Patel, known for movies like 'Slumdog Millionaire,' 'Lion,' 'Skins,' and more, was among many witnesses to a crime that happened in Adelaide on Monday, August 1. The police arrived at Gouger street after receiving reports of a couple fighting in the street. The Glengowrie man was treated by the on-scene paramedics before he was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where it was confirmed that he suffered non-threatening injuries. What was Dev Patel doing in Australia?
Dev Patel, 32, witnessed the stabbing and was in South Australia spending time with his 'Hotel Mumbai' co-star and girlfriend Tilda Cobham-Hervey. He was in no way, shape, or form, related to the crime, and Cobham-Hervey was not present at the scene. It's unclear if the actor was in Australia with her girlfriend to shoot or to spend some quality time. He was last seen in 'The Green Knight' directed by David Lowery.
Patel and Cobham-Hervey met each other in the June of 2016 when they were filming the based-on-a-true-story drama, 'Hotel Mumbai' which revisits the horrific attacks at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in India in 2008. It was based on the 2009 documentary 'Surviving Mumbai'. Adelaide is Cobham-Hervey's hometown and the same place where the stabbing happened. She made her acting debut at the age of 19 and is known for movies like 'I Am Woman', 'Burn', '52 Tuesdays', and more.
