Brad Pitt proud of daughter Shiloh on her 14th birthday for staying 'true to herself' and loving her siblings
Although Brad Pitt hasn't had the best relationship when it comes to his children after he divorced Angelina Jolie in 2016, things are looking up for the 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' actor as the coronavirus lockdown as helped him reconnect with his son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, and his relationship with Shiloh — who turned 14 on May 27 — is on the mend. “Shiloh is close to both of her parents. All the kids have been looking forward to Shiloh’s birthday and plan to celebrate with a birthday cake,” a source told Entertainment Tonight before the big day. “Brad is so proud of Shiloh and who she has become. He loves that she always stays true to herself and is so good to her brothers and sisters.”
Not just that, Pitt has also made all his six kids a priority in his life as he frequently gushes about them to his friends. Even Jolie's reopening of the custody battle for their kids -- which Pitt initially dreaded -- worked to bring him closer to both Maddox and Shiloh. “Brad’s kids are the most important thing to him. He tells his friends he learns so much about life from his own children,” the source added. “He and Angie have been getting along so much better since the custody rules have been worked out. They have come so far.”
We earlier reported that Pitt and Jolie are apparently on good terms despite their messy divorce, thanks to the lockdown making them realize how important it was to maintain a cordial relationship for the sake of their children. "Things between Brad and Angelina are better than they have been,” a source told Us Weekly earlier this month. “They’re more cordial—they’re aiming toward resolutions that work for each of them.”
A second source said that the A-listers have recently come to an agreement as the 56-year-old actor sees the younger children every few days. The insider mentioned that though Pitt is not in contact with his elder children, Maddox and Pax, he still gets updates about them from the ‘Maleficent’ actress. The source added that to make matters even better, Jolie is specifically “impressed with Brad’s continued sobriety”.
The source also shared that Pitt who claimed that he gave up alcohol in 2017 has not been able to attend his usual Alcoholics Anonymous meetings since the coronavirus lockdown, but “he’s in regular contact with his support network”.
This comes almost a month after a previous report stated that the former couple has reportedly agreed on their underage kids' education as they want them to now have "traditional schooling". The report also claimed that Pitt has submitted papers in the Los Angeles County Court informing the judge that he and his 44-year-old ex-wife have now made an agreement regarding "education and transitional support" for their children. “He had been pushing for and the children's therapist also recommended. Brad wants the kids to be in a school setting, and not isolated being homeschooled," a source revealed in April. The ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ stars were together for 12 years and tied the knot in August 2014. Together they have six children – Maddox, 18, Pax, 16, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 13, Knox, 11, and Vivienne, 11.
