'BoJack Horseman' final season trailer has fans feeling overwhelmed

What upset fans is the fact that it is Netflix that pulled the plug on the show

When fans finally got the trailer for season 6 of 'BoJack Horseman', they also got a rude shock: it was going to be the final season of the animated series.

Since its premiere in August 2014 on Netflix, 'BoJack Horseman' has been a favorite among audiences for its honest, raw portrayal of mental health and depression. Through a variety of characters on the show - the eponymous BoJack himself, Todd, Sarah Lynn, Diane, Mr Peanutbutter, Princess Carolyn - audiences were confronted with real-life issues on the screen. It took no time for the show to garner a following that waited anxiously for its upcoming season.

For many, the animated comedy means a lot. Watching BoJack's struggle on the screen had helped thousands with their own mental health. "It’s a gem of a show that has helped me through dark times and honestly is a brilliant rendition of the flawed human," said a fan. "I'm utterly broken. This show is the best thing on television," lamented a fan.

What upset fans further is the fact that it was actually Netflix that pulled the plug on the show. Aaron Paul, who voices Todd, confirmed on Twitter when replying to a fan: "We had a wonderful time making Bojack. Couldn’t be more proud. Fell in love with these characters just like everyone else did but sadly Netflix thought it was time to close the curtains and so here we are. They gave us a home for 6 beautiful years. Nothing we could do about it."

Several others had expected the news this time around, with many thinking that it was the perfect timing to end the show. "I saw this coming a mile away. The show is all about BoJack getting a grip on his life and his existential crisis, and it was pretty clear that he's about a season from doing so. I usually vehemently disagree with the "at least it ended while it was good" crowd, but in this case, I am in 100% agreement. It's time, and I trust the writers to give us a strong closing season," said one.

And many others find themselves in a dilemma over the final season. "Man if this season ends with Bojack becoming a better person effectively proving there is salvation if you work for it and handing me the onus of my misery then I have no idea what I'm gonna do?" one ponders

There are, however, several reasons to believe that it is not going to be as a sweet a season as the trailer has shown it to be. Owing to the fact that there is a three-month gap between the first and the second part of the sixth season [eight episodes each], fans are predicting the death of a character.

We are anticipating a bittersweet ending. It is unlike Raphael Bob-Waksberg to give 'BoJack Horseman' a happy ending.

'BoJack Horseman' Season 6 part 1 comes to Netflix on October 25, 2019.
