Reddit was awash with morbid theories after a user shared a bizarre image from a deceased person's phone. The photo was taken two days before the person's death. The user asked on the platform, "What is this in a bizarre photo found on a deceased person's phone? Could be unrelated, but they fell ill and died two days after this was taken, so there is little context."

Reddit descended into chaos after the photo was posted, with several users pushing wild theories about the picture. The post gained a lot of attention and has garnered 431 comments so far.

Melted candy?

One Reddit user wrote on the platform, "Unfortunately, there is little context to this photo because of the circumstances. I can't imagine what it is, as it definitely doesn't look anything the person would ever eat." The same user added another post that said, "The photo was taken last Friday evening about 9 PM. The following morning the person (43F) was very ill with extreme abdominal pain, eventually progressing to full body aches. Found dead Monday morning. Medical examiner report and cause of death pending."

Another user speculated the picture was that of melted candy and wrote, "I agree, unless you can get your hands the multi-colored blob in the pot. It could be melted candy, or something else. I imagine a bunch of marshmallows and candy bars melted slowly in the pot, with a bunch of other candy styles, like Skittles, Jujubees, or crap US candy."

'An organ'

A third user claimed, "The odds of eating this being the cause are fairly low - even if it is an organ, cooking it is going to resolve 99% of what might be in it, and the rest are almost certain to cause other symptoms along with the pain. The body will do its best to purge out both ends if something is up."

The user went on to add, "While it would also cause other symptoms, the abdominal pain and the duration sounds a whole lot like appendicitis leading to sepsis. That would be immediately obvious to the coroner, and if it was something eaten it would likely show up on a toxicology report, so you're probably going to get closure one way or another."

'A very large cyst'

Another user came up with an even more morbid claim and wrote, "That kind of looks like a very large cyst. If she was having abdominal pain, she may have passed this right before. Could have been one she didn't even know she had until she passed it Just because it's in a pot, doesn't mean it was intended for consumption."
