Billie Eilish looks starstruck meeting Kate Middleton at 'No Time to Die' premiere
‘No Time To Die’, the latest film in the James Bond franchise, had its world premiere in London on Tuesday, September 28. The high-profile event was attended by the movie's cast, British socialites, and members of the royal family. And among those guests were pop star Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas Baird O'Connell, (known by his first name), who is also a famous singer-songwriter.
Eilish and Finneas, who wrote the theme song for the James Bond film, met Prince William and Kate Middleton at the event. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reportedly spoke to the siblings inside the Royal Albert Hall, where stars Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Ana de Armas, and more gathered to watch Daniel Craig's final film as the British super spy. In a photo of Eilish meeting the Duchess of Cambridge, the pop singer and her brother could be seen beaming at Kate. The siblings looked absolutely starstruck. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were accompanied by Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

As per a new BBC interview, the night before the siblings were supposed to debut their Bond song live at the Brit Awards with a 20-piece orchestra last year, Eilish said, "It's going to be crazy. Oh my God, I'm gonna pee myself." But the coronavirus pandemic intervened.
Eilish told the BBC, “We'd always wanted to write a Bond song — even before it was an option.” Her brother added, “We'd been writing motifs and thinking of melodies for a couple of years, just as far as like, 'Wouldn't it be cool if one day we got to do a Bond song?' And when we got wind that they were making the 25th, we immediately set out to meet with Barbara [Broccoli, producer] and plead our case.”
Finneas said, “The first thing we wrote was five minutes long and we brought it down to about 3'40". Eilish said, “But we still wanted to have a big moment because it's a Bond song. And as much as I'm known for singing quietly, I guess, I was just like, 'I'm gonna prove I can do this other stuff too'."
The royals were also excited to support the cast of the Bond film. The Cambridges wrote on their official Instagram, "Wonderful to see @007 back on our big screens! No Time To Die is the 25th Bond film and Daniel Craig's last after 15 years in the role. It showcases the inspirational work of actors, musicians, directors, cinematographers, and all those involved in making the film so special."
They added, "Tonight's world premiere will benefit charities supporting serving and former members of the three intelligence agencies: the Secret Intelligence Service, the Security Service, and @gchq." The Duchess of Cambridge rocked a gold sequined cape dress by Jenny Packham, reportedly following in Princess Diana’s footsteps by attending a Bond premiere in metallics. Prince William donned a dark velvet blazer. Eilish was outfitted in head-to-toe black Gucci.
Eilish, the subject of Elle magazine’s cover story for October, revealed in the interview that she lost about a hundred thousand followers on Instagram after she debuted a new look. The 19-year-old musician claimed that the unfollows happened because of her breasts. “People hold on to these memories and have an attachment. But it’s very dehumanizing,” she said. “I lost 100,000 followers, just because of the boobs. People are scared of big boobs.”
