Billie Eilish is still hot off her latest album 'Happier Than Ever', but it looks like she has found herself in some trouble with singer Diamond White.

In a tweet shared on August 28, the 'Summerland' singer accused Eilish of stealing music from her. "Wait y’all I just found out that SOME THINGS in ‘Ocean Eyes’ by Billie was allegedly stolen from a 13-14-year-old me", she wrote in the tweet, adding that she would be posting “receipts” shortly after. White then posted snippets of her song 'Fire Fighter' to demonstrate the similarities between the two songs. In the video, she played the beginning of her song, which many users on social media say has a similar chord progression to Eilish’s breakout single.

Eilish gained public attention in 2015 with her debut single 'Ocean Eyes'. In the first tweet shared by White, one can notice the similarities between the song.

She posted another snippet of the song, the chorus, which also sounds similar to Eilish’s song. In her tweets, she says that the song was produced in 2013. Even though it was not uploaded to streaming platforms, White performed the song at a charity concert in 2013.

She then posted a tweet that said, “I literally love Billie and I don’t even know for sure, it could just be a bunch of coincidences.”

On Twitter, there are many asking White to take the next steps. "Girl it sounded the exact same. There’s no such thing as “a bunch of coincidences” when it comes to music. Get your name on those credits! They took your shit," one tweeted. Replying to a naysayer, one user wrote, "She stole from her . At the end of the day , you’re giving a yt girl too much credit".

And while Eilish's fans became aggressive, ridiculing White and refusing to trust her, she did not respond to anyone beyond releasing the receipts. "How is it that Billie fans keep asking “if the song was ever released?” When someone literally posted the video of Diamond performing it live in the past… are y’all slow or purposely ignoring that there was possibility that Billie’s brother/someone else heard Diamond song live?" one wrote.

White's allegations made their way to TikTok where pop culture commentators started talking about them. User Hennyondatok posted about the allegations and said that the opening chords are “eerily similar and the song ends up building in an almost identical way.”

Music and pop culture critic on TikTok Pablo, the Don, said that they think the songs sound similar and that White may have grounds to seek credit. A user in the comments section wrote that White deserves credit because “Ocean Eyes” is one of Eilish’s biggest hits, to which Pablo replied saying they agree.

They gave the example of Olivia Rodrigo granting Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Josh Farro songwriting credits after many people started noticed similarities with Rodrigo’s 'Good 4 U' and Paramore’s 'Misery Business'. Pablo said in their TikTok video that artists would much rather come to mutual agreements than go through long, drawn-out court battles.
