Bill Hudson's ex-wives Cindy Williams and Goldie Hawn struggled to be amicable as late actress tried to build blended family
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cindy Williams died Wednesday, January 25, in Los Angeles. The veteran actress and Goldie Hawn were once married to singer Bill Hudson. However, the ex-wives had trouble getting along. Hawn was never interested in establishing an blended family relationship between the two families. Williams, on the other hand, tried to bring both families together.
According to Amomama, Hawn and Hudson were married in June 1976. The duo met on one of their flights in 1975 and immediately fell in love. The couple, who married in 1976, also welcomed their first child, Oliver Hudson, that same year.

According to Amomama, the couple also welcomed their daughter Kate Hudson, who was born on April 19, 1979, after which the relationship between Hudson and Hawn became strained. This even led to Hudson building a weak bond with both of his children. in 2015, Hudson revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail, "I say to them now, ‘“I set you free. I had five birth children but I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognize Oliver and Kate as my own. I would ask them to stop using the Hudson name. They are no longer a part of my life. Oliver’s Instagram post was a malicious, vicious, premeditated attack. He is dead to me now. As is Kate. I am mourning their loss even though they are still walking this earth."
Regarding their relationship, he said, "The attraction was instant. I invited her out to dinner that night and that was it. The sex was mind-blowing. Even when everything else in the relationship turned sour, the sex was always amazing." He added, "Oliver was in isolation for three days,’ says Bill. ‘Goldie and I were beside ourselves. She was really sick and I’d go from her bedside to the neonatal intensive care unit. The doctors didn’t think Oliver would make it. I was only 26 and in a state of shock. Goldie and I were sobbing but Oliver pulled through and from that moment he was our precious miracle. He was my first-born. I adored that child. When Kate came along, I loved her with all my heart, too. There was this deep love among the four of us for years. And that’s what makes it so difficult to say goodbye."
The interview took place shortly after he posted "Happy abandonment day" on Instagram on the occasion of Father's Day. Kate then posted a picture with Kurt Russell, who Hawn was dating at the time, writing, "Pa, just simply... thank you. Happy Father’s Day. I love you to the moon and back." Hudson also mentioned in the interview, "When we split up, she never had a bad word to say about me.But when Kurt came on the scene, the narrative changed and I became the big, bad wolf. I would say to her “Goldie, why are you trashing me and saying I’m an absent father when it’s simply not the case?” and she’d laugh and go “Oh Bill, you know it makes for a better story”."

Williams met Hudson at a celebrity baseball event while shooting for 'Laverne & Shirley.' The musician made her fall in love with him after sending a book by Martha Lear titled 'Heart Sounds' for Christmas and got married in 1982.

I never had that in my marriage with Goldie—no matter how she came on after our divorce as this abandoned little creature who was taken advantage of by men." They had two children, Emily and Zachray. However, after 18 years of marriage, Williams filed for divorce in 2000, citing irreconcilable differences between her and the musician.
Hawn and William's relationship

Williams always made sure to bring both families, especially the kids together. Further, Hawn has also praised Williams for always buying shoes for Oliver and dresses for Kate. However, things strained when Hudson started complaining over Hawn's constant travel making it hard for him to meet Oliver and Kate. As time went by, Hawn started giving in less effort to make her children meet their father, as per Amo Mama. Hawn further created issues in the relationship when Oliver requested her to join to see Williams and Hudson's first child, Emily. However, Hawn did not agree to it. In another incident, Hawn's child Wyatt, whom she shares with Kurt once wanted to join Oliver and Kate on an outing with Williams, however, they couldn't make it as he did not get permission from his mother who was traveling. These two instances broke William's heart. In fact, these two incidents harmed the relationship between the exes.
