'What a joy!' Fans gush over Bill and Melinda Gates' first photos of their newborn granddaughter
MEDINA, WASHINGTON: Bill Gates and his ex-wife Melinda are gushing over their first newborn granddaughter a month after her birth. The former couple shared the first pictures of the baby girl where they can be seen cradling the infant who was wearing a pink babygrow.
Billionaire Bill Gates captioned his post, "I can't wait to watch you discover the world" on Instagram while Melinda Gates shared a snap that appeared to be from a separate occasion and wrote, "there is nothing like holding your first grandchild." In both photos, however, the child's face was not visible, only a mop of her black hair. The name of the child has not been revealed yet.

Bill and Melinda officially split in 2021 after 27 years of marriage, the pair share three children Jennifer, 26, Rory, 23, and Phoebe, 20. The newborn is from the ex-couple's first daughter Jennifer. Melinda further added, "It seems like just yesterday I was holding Jenn at this age. Now she has a baby of her own—and I am bursting with pride watching her and Nayel step into their new role as parents." The first-time mother, Jennifer also uploaded a photo of her beaming as she held the child. Jennifer's baby come from her marriage to her Egyptian-American equestrian fiance Nayel Nassar in October 2021 after reportedly dating for nearly five years.
