'Big Brother' Season 24: From live move-in to new set design, changes fans can expect this season
'Big Brother' Season 24 is set to premiere live, which means the houseguests will enter the house in real-time. This means that viewers can expect live feeds to begin within the first few days.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the season premiere has been live for the previous two seasons. COVID-19 regulations impacted both 'Big Brother' 22 and 'Big Brother' Season 23, notably quarantining the participants before they went into the house, screening the cast and crew regularly, and banning the live audience.

After Xavier Prather claimed 'Big Brother' 23, host Julie Chen Moonves announced Season 24 and 'Celebrity Big Brother 3' comeback after a three-year sabbatical. The host previewed the upcoming season with an alleged snapshot of herself posing outside the house in June 2022. CBS later announced the July 6, 2022 premiere date. Jesse Tannenbaum, who was the casting director for 'Big Brother: Over the Top' and Season 23, has returned for 'Big Brother 24,' which includes all-new houseguests. The participants will fight for the ultimate prize of $750,000, which was raised by $250,000 last season.
This is the second year in a row that 'Big Brother' premieres in July, which was its customary launch month before it began creeping into late June with the extended 99-day seasons (Season 22 aired in August 2020 owing to COVID-19.) This would place the season finale in late September once more. 'Big Brother' will continue to air on Wednesdays at 8/7c, with live evictions on Thursdays at 9/8c and Sundays at 8/7c. This implies that rather than a pre-taped event, fans will witness the houseguests enter the house for the first time in real-time and uncensored. The live element adds to the excitement, since anything can happen. There has been no confirmation as to when the 'Big Brother' 24 live streams will begin, but according to Us Weekly, they are normally switched on following the West Coast taping of the premiere.
Even though 'Big Brother' conducts a live move-in,' live feeds sometimes do not begin until the West Coast broadcast of the premiere finishes. That means there will be at least a three-hour break between the previous live appearance of the houseguests and the next. It's also worth mentioning that the live move-in is a relatively recent addition to the main series, having debuted in Season 22. What else is new this season?
Along with the thrilling news of the live move-in, CBS revealed the new key image for 'Big Brother 24.' It depicts host Julie Chen Moonves, who is back for her 24th season in a tropical dress with red high heels, seated atop the 'Big Brother' emblem. The logo is encircled by a pool filled with a flamingo floatie, a rubber duckie, and a beach ball, symbolic of the show's backyard pool, with palm trees and hills in the background.
Moonves posted an enigmatic picture of herself posing outside the 'Big Brother' home a few weeks before CBS confirmed the debut date for 'Big Brother 24.' The photograph, taken at a low angle, showed the bright pink stairwell, fuschia-colored windows, and the ground leading to it. The host is only seen from the knees down in the shot, which mostly shows the bottom of her flowery print dress and complementing high heels. The colors of the house differed from 'Big Brother 23,' which did not feature red, and 'Celebrity Big Brother 3,' which had its normal blue color motif. With a heart-eye emoji, Moonves captioned it, "TGIF so shiny." Several of her followers commented on the post, asking for additional information about the new season. In a subsequent tweet, the host inquired, "what do you all want to know?" Many viewers asked questions, but she did not react to any of them.
'Big Brother' was last broadcast in January 2022, with 'Celebrity Big Brother 3.' The home had a ski lodge theme, and the Head of Household room was designed to seem like an ice castle. 'Celebrity Big Brother 3' had one of the oldest casts and one houseguest, comic Chris Kattan, who dropped out after 15 days.
