New pics show Betty White's iconic Brentwood home in ruins after being demolished in $10M deal
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: New pictures have surfaced of Betty White's demolished Brentwood residence, months after it was sold for an astonishing $10.678 million in June 2022. The luxurious home in Los Angeles was put on the market after the ‘The Golden Girls’ icon’s death in December 2021. White died at her other home in the picturesque Central California town of Carmel-By-The-Sea, just weeks shy of her 100th birthday.
White’s long-term aide, Kiersten Mikelas, confirmed last December that the Los Angeles home had been demolished. Now in new images, the home where White lived for decades could be seen as nothing but dirt. Pictures also captured construction crews laying the groundwork for the huge project. As per Daily Mail, new owners are planning to build a new massive mansion in its place. The beautiful two-story property, which was 3,029 square feet in size, featured five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a pool, and a gorgeous view of the Getty Museum.

Staggering rates of Betty White's demolished Brentwood home
The Brentwood house was listed with a $10.575 million asking price, but it finally got sold in June for $10.678 million, according to TMZ. The Hollywood icon’s beachfront estate in Carmel was also sold in April 2022 for $10.775 million, nearly $3 million over its asking price, Architectural Digest revealed. When the Brentwood residence was sold, it was widely rumored that the new owners intended to have it demolished and rebuilt with a new structure. The rumors eventually came out true.
Betty White and Allen Ludden’s love story
The original home was built in the 1950s but the ‘Lake Placid’ star adopted it as her marital home in 1968 with her third husband Allen Ludden. White and Ludden exchanged vows in 1963 and stayed together until his death of stomach cancer in 1981- just four years before she began starring on 'The Golden Girls'. White first met Allen in 1961, when he was already hosting the smash hit game show ‘Password’ in New York City. At that time, he had been left a single father to three children when his first wife Margaret McGloin died of cancer.
They kept working together on the stage as he wooed her, starring together in the plays Critics' Choice and Janus. After a slew of failed proposals, Allen and White finally got married on Easter 1963. Tragically, their marriage only lasted for 18 years as Ludden died in 1981, when he was only 63 years old. Before tying the knot with Ludden, White was married to Dick Barker (1945-1945) and Lane Allen (1947-1949). Reflecting on her love life, White once jokingly said to Piers Morgan on CNN that her first two marriages were "rehearsals," adding that back then, "you didn't sleep with a guy until you married him."
