RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA: A photo shared by Lynnette Hardaway, a Trump supporter and conservative political activist, showed that she seemed happy in the weeks before her death. Diamond, a member of the duo Diamond and Silk, died Monday, January 9. Former President Donald Trump called her death "totally unexpected."

Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, who are from North Carolina, gained notoriety for their YouTube videos defending Trump and doubting the Covid-19data. On December 25, 2022, Hardaway and Richardson posted their latest image on Instagram. Since then, comments have been piling up from grieving followers expressing sympathy for Silk and her family.

Hardaway and Richardson served as field advisors for the Trump campaign in 2016 for a brief period of time. After Facebook warned the political activists that they were "unsafe to the community" two years later, the activists attracted media attention. They later protested the web platform's censorship of their page to federal officials. In testimony before Congress on April 26, 2018, Diamond and Silk described being removed from Facebook.

After appearing on shows like Hannity, Fox News Sunday, and The Ingraham Angle months later, the two were offered a show on Fox Nation. When the pair asserted in March 2020 that the number of deaths caused by the coronavirus was a "conspiracy to hurt" the president, Fox News eventually severed ties with the pair.
