'Be Our Chef' returned with yet another exciting episode that had the Wells and Merrill family fight for a crucial win that would help them climb to the top of the points table.

This week, the families were tasked to create delicacies inspired by one of Disney's most-loved characters, Moana. Both the teams put their culinary skills to work and came up with two very uniquely named and "excellent" tasting dishes.

The Wells' presented chef-judge Gregg Hannon with a protein platter consisting of broiled lobster tail seasoned with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, bacon, steak, homemade pico, and cream cheese. Titled 'Kakamora's Catch of The Day,' the dish was representative of Moana and her encounter with the Kakamoras.

"But I think it could've just used a little bit more salt. And then you want to use ground pepper and not cracked black pepper 'cause sometimes that can be really spicy, especially when you're really seasoning the delicate lobster," he added and shared that the steak's flavor was "great" and the asparagus was cooked all the way through.

However, the Pico de gallo was a bit sharp with all the onions and jalapenos that were added to it.

The Merril family came in next, confident with one win in their kitty but hungry for more. Titled 'Wayfinder's Canoe', the dish was created using a deep-fried sweet potato boat containing fried fish, bacon, and relish that featured avocado, onion, and pineapple. While Gregg loved the taste and look of it, he was especially taken by how the family had used ingredients from their dish to represent Moana's story arcs.

"The texture of the fried cod - excellent. It's really crispy. And the bacon is nice and crispy. Excellent job on that. I think, the salsa, though is a bit on the sweet side, especially with the coconut," Gregg commented.

But, he was more concerned about how the sweet potato turned out after they had deep-fried it. Gregg said the potato wasn't actually sweet when he ate because of how the family had fried it. "But I think overall your presentation is really neat. And the boat and story are great," Gregg concluded and announced the Wells family as the winner.

And with that, the Wells family picked the first win that put them back in contention for the finale.
