While the audience is going gaga over Saweetie, Doja Cat, Alicia Keys, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's stunning ensembles at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards red carpet, there were a few fashion faux pas spotted as well. A few celebrities failed to turn heads with their bland choices in outfits while some made the cut straight to the worst dressed list for the night.

From Kelsea Ballerini's stars and moons minidress to The Weeknd's Sherlock-esque overcoat, there were indeed a few outfits that killed the hot and happening vibe of the Billboard Music Awards 2021. Take a look.

Kelsea Ballerini

Singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini donned a Nedret Taciroğlu LBD adorned with glittery moons and stars and a sheer midriff. The velvety minidress perhaps would have been perfect for a casual night out with your friends but fell short while bringing that extra glam factor to the BBMA red carpet. The one long-sleeve with heart and stars motifs does not do much to improve the overall appearance of the dress. And we are also not big fans of the sheer midriff with stripes and polka dots. Overall, a quite busy yet unimpressive dress.

The Weeknd

With 16 nominations and eight wins, one would expect to see The Weeknd in something cheerful or vibrant, maybe? But his very formal black overcoat with a white shirt and black tie gave more of Sherlock vibes. Though the rapper looked dapper, as always, the long overcoat was perhaps not the ideal way to debut his new look away from the red suits and face bandage ensemble he has been sporting for long to promote his fourth album 'After Hours'.

"I'd like to thank god... I don't have to wear that red suit anymore," the rapper said in his acceptance speech.

Iann Dior

The obsession with overcoats and trench coats this year is quite baffling. Puerto Rican singer Iann Dior donned an oversized grey trench coat with mesh shoulders, over his white vest. He paired the same with metallic gold pants and silver shoes. Overall, it was not an outfit you would want to remember. We are in love with his accessories though, particularly the ornate silver choker.

Justin Sylvester

Daily Pop co-host Justin Sylvester wore a floral Moschino suit and suede boots to the Billboards Music Awards 2021. The jungle pattern in pastel colors did not appear as vibrant and peppy as the vibe it aimed at. Instead, the outfit ended up being cumbersome and complex and not quite pleasant too.

Gabby Barrett

Country music star Gabby Barrett tried to channel her inner Rihanna with a dazzling gold dress and never-ending train that reminded many of RiRi's iconic Met Gala 2015 dress. However, her metallic gold gown with dramatic ruffles and embroidery failed to make a statement despite its glamorous appearance. That said, congratulations to the Top Country Female Artist winner.
