'Batwoman' Episode 4 promo shows Alice blackmail her stepmother into giving her ‘a top secret weapon’
The promo of 'Batwoman' episode 4 titled 'Who are you?' features an important plot point for the upcoming episode and we cannot wait to see how Kate Kane aka Batwoman (Ruby Rose) is going to find her way out of Alice's (Rachel Skarsten) latest plans.
In the previous episode, we saw Alice leave three particular playing cards on Catherine's dressing table. When Catherine (Elizabeth Anweis) returned from Tommy Elliot's (Gabriel Mann) party, she found the cards and before Jacob (Dougray Scott) could observe and question her, she hid it from him.
It begs the question, did Catherine have something to do with Kate's sister Beth's accident or her disappearance which was mistaken as her death? Could Catherine have planted the evidence, the skull fragments, found after the accident?
This was expected to be explored in the coming episodes and it looks like the showrunners have not disappointed us. Going by the promo video, Alice has something against Catherine, which seemingly allows her to blackmail Catherine into handing over a top-secret weapon in the control of Crows Security. A company that is owned by Jacob and Catherine.
It also looks like Catherine hands it over to Alice and the weapon itself might be a bomb of some kind. We see Kate mention that in the promo video, followed by which there are scenes of a blast. The promo also alludes to Jacob finding out the truth about Alice and Catherine's deal.
He might not find the truth behind why Catherine handed something dangerous over to Alice, a well-known criminal. He does, however, tell Catherine he is disappointed in her, which leaves Catherine in tears.
Will the rift forming between Catherine and Jacob be furthered? What if Jacob learns it was Catherine who had arranged for Kate to be attacked in order to get her hands on Alice's knife? In the second episode, Catherine had stopped Kate from being able to run a DNA test on the knife.
Considering Alice the leader of Wonderland Gang is Beth, Kate's sister who had gone missing after a car accident and was presumed dead, there is not much Batwoman could do. Kate did give Alice an ultimatum in episode 3, but it doesn't look like Alice may take the ultimatum very seriously.
The next episode of 'Batwoman' will air Monday.
