'Batwoman' Episode 3 sees Kate try 1 last time to find her lost sister Beth in Alice and give her an ultimatum to reform

Kate Kane finally understands Alice is not the Beth that she lost as a child as she tries one last time to salvage her relationship with her sister
PUBLISHED OCT 21, 2019

'Batwoman' Episode 3 saw Alice (Rachel Skarsten) meet up with Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) on the Wayne Tower's rooftop where the two discuss family, superhero life, murder and mayhem. Kate has Alice's boyfriend in her custody and the only way she would even consider releasing him would be if Alice can stop herself from killing for the next 24 hours.

Kate also tries to find Beth who seems to be buried somewhere deep that Alice is not ready to explore further. As a child, Beth who is now Alice seems to have gone through some kind of a traumatic experience that manifests itself in the form of a nightmare.

The more Alice is in touch with Kate, the more her past seems to unravel and Alice is not a big of facing hard truths. Alice does what she does best and even manages to get inside her father Jacob Kane's apartment. She uses Jacob's wife, Catherine's make up, breaks family pictures of Jacob, Catherine and Mary; and goes to the extent of playing the cello that Beth used to play as a child.

Alice calls Jacob from the penthouse and even plays a Bach song Jacob had taught Beth as a child. So far, Jacob has remained calm and composed every time some kind of connection between Alice and Beth surfaced. He had even managed to remain uninfluenced after Kate revealed the truth to him.

But now, the song seemingly has an effect on him. After she wreaks havoc in their home, she arrives at Tommy Elliot's party to crash it, only to find that Eliott, in an attempt to upstage Batman, has put lives in danger. This includes Kate's as well, which is a life that Alice surprisingly saves.

Even as Kate hangs off a 40-floor building holding on to her dear life in her Batsuit, it is Alice who comes forth to save her by whacking Eliott on the back of his head. Alice knows Kate's secret, so the suit doesn't surprise her.

It is the color red, that catches her off-guard. The color of garnet, which happens to be Kate and Beth's birthstone, is what Kate chose to differentiate herself from Batman and somehow this only aggravates Alice's anger. So much so, she throws the picture of her latest murder victim at Kate's face to get a reaction out of her.

As expected, Kate finally gives Alice one last ultimatum. She tells Alice that if she kills one more person, she will stop considering Alice as her sister. Alice outwardly looks happy Kate has finally understood the situation, but will this ultimatum really have no effect on Alice?

The next episode of 'Batwoman' will air on The CW Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
