Shaunie O'Neal and former NBA player Shaquille O'Neal had a very public and messy divorce. But that didn't stop them from being responsible parents to their four kids. The couple began dating in 1998, got engaged in 2000 and were married two years later. What they thought was the start of a fairytale soon went South when Shaq focused his energies outside their marriage. The couple split in 2009.

Even though the prenuptial agreement that they had allegedly signed allowed the sports star to keep most of his assets, the split was still quite expensive. According to a Clutchpoints report, he paid $20,000 every month as alimony and child support. Although we are in no position to confirm the details of the legal split, if this information were any true then Shaunie made $240,000 in a year by just being an ex-wife.

Interestingly, she decided to start something of her own and over the years has come to be known as one of the most respected and talented executive producers. She started 'Basketball Wives' soon after their split and went on to back the Los Angeles spin-off, which lasted for five years starting 2011. She was also the brain behind 'Baller Wives', 'Shaunie's Home Court' and 'The Love Shaq'.

In between making reality TV shows and raising kids, the 46-year-old made impressive money. According to a Celebrity Net Worth report, her net worth is at $35 million, which explains how she got to establish her own shoe line called 'Shaunie's Must Haves'.

Shaunie is thrilled to return to 'BBW' Season 9, which will see her in a different light because the show was shot before and during the pandemic and that has brought in a lot of changes in her and the rest of the cast, she told FOX5 Atlanta. From the looks of it, it is indeed going to be one rollercoaster season because the ladies are coming in with a lot baggage, especially feuding friends Evelyn Lozada and Ogom 'OG' Chijindu. They have lawsuits to deal with.

Catch all the new episodes of 'Basketball Wives' Season 9 when it premieres on February 9, Tuesday on VH1. For more information, check your local listings.
