BAFTA 2020: Where to watch live, when will it air and what to expect at the annual film awards
The BAFTAs are upon us once again and here is a quick rundown on what to expect.
Presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, feature-length films and documentaries screened at British cinemas in 2019 will be up for awards this year.
The list of winners in 2019 included 'Roma' for Best Film (and several other categories), Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) for Leading Actor, 'Black Panther' for Special Visual Effects (with Letitia Wright picking up the award for Rising Star), Mahershala Ali (Green Book) for Supporting Actor, 'BlacKkKlansman' for Adapted Screenplay, 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' for Animated Film and 'A Star Is Born' for Original Music.
When will it air?
The 73rd BAFTA will air on February 2 from 9 pm to 11.30 pm GMT. Red carpet starts at 5 pm GMT.
In the US, the BAFTA will air on February 2 at 9 pm ET / 8 pm CT.
What to expect?
The host for this year's BAFTA is the hilarious Graham Norton, so we can expect to get a few good laughs out of this one.
'Joker', up for awards in 11 categories, has received the most nominations this year. A new category, 'Best Casting' was also introduced for the 2020 BAFTA.
Other nominees include the cast and crew of films such as 'The Irishman', 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood', 'Rocketman', South Korean dark comedy 'Parasite'. Andy Serkis of 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Black Panther' fame is being honoured with the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema Award.
Nominees were announced on January 7 via livestream on the BAFTA YouTube channel.

The red carpet will be broadcast live on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube by the EE British Academy Film Awards.
For those in the UK, BBC One and BBC One HD will air the BAFTAs live and you can also catch the show on BBC iPlayer.
For those in the US, the BAFTAs will air on BBC America.
