Bad Bunny fans rush to his defense after he's slammed for throwing away fan's phone in lake
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Bad Bunny is not apologizing for throwing a female fan's phone into the water, claiming that she deserved it for being disrespectful and got exactly what she deserved. In a video that is making rounds on Twitter, the young woman in the Dominican Republic approached the 28-year-old rapper and tried to take a photo with him using her phone.
Clearly angered by her presence, the musician grabbed the phone from her hand and threw it into the surrounding lake, drawing audible gasps from spectators. The video received more than a million views in a short period of time. However, Bunny doubled down on his conduct in a tweet of his own which was translated from Spanish. “The person who comes up to me to say hello, to tell me something, or just to meet me, will always receive my attention and respect,” he wrote in Spanish. “Those who come to put a f**king phone in my face I will consider it for what it is, a lack of respect, and I will treat it likewise.” The singer's phone-throwing has split some fans who felt it went too far. One person on Twitter commented, “I love him but this was unnecessary. and everyone justifying his actions are weird. a normal human being with rational thinking would’ve told the person 'can u please back away.' Him just grabbing her phone and throwing it like that was completely rude." Another user replied to the comment with, "A normal human being with rational thinking would know it’s not ok to get that close to a stranger and stick a phone in their face without their consent. It’s rude and obnoxious."

Bunny's fans were quick to react to the criticism that popped up on Twitter.
One person added, "People need to stop acting like celebrities are their best friends. You’re a complete stranger to them — you can’t just run up, invade their personal space, and start recording." Another one joked, "He never said he was a good bunny."
One user claimed, "She should sue him, personal space is important but so is personal property. Love him but I don’t think I can be a fan anymore. Sending love to the girl, hopefully she can get a new phone." Bad Bunny was defended by a user who said, "If somebody invaded my personal space, I’d do the same. King."
The artist recently disclosed to Billboard that following his 'World's Hottest Tour' in 2022, he will take some much-needed time off. “I’m taking a break. 2023 is for me, for my physical health, my emotional health to breathe, enjoy my achievements,” he told the outlet. “We’re going to celebrate. Let’s go here, let’s go there, let’s go on the boat. I have a couple of sporadic commitments, and I’ll go to the studio, but there’s no pressure. Remember yourself, cabrón. You’ve worked your a– off,” he added.
