Who is Ata Johnson? The Rock's mother steals the show with her ukulele performance on Jimmy Fallon
Recently, Dwayne Johnson joined Jimmy Fallon virtually on his ‘The Tonight Show’ on NBC. The February 10 show was going as usual until the mother of 'The Rock' appeared on the screen and stole the show with her ukulele performance. When Ata Johnson joined the duo, she and Fallon remembered their meet-up and the best time they had. After that, the mother-son duo performed on the ukulele for the show's host.
Ata played the Samoan song “Savalivali Means Go For a Walk” with Johnson. She went on to perform another song as she sang “We love you, Jimmy” and Dwayne couldn’t resist but sing along. The 48-year-old actor shared a clip of the show on his Twitter account as he wrote, “My mom steals the interview! Or saves it Happy Sunday.” People on the internet couldn’t resist and jumped in to comment on the performance of Dwayne’s mother.

Who is Ata Johnson?
Ata is not just a mother to Dwayne, she is also an actress, known for ‘WrestleMania XXIV’ released in 2008, ‘WWE Smackdown!’ released in 1999, and 2009’s ‘Tagata Pacifika’. Born as Feagaimaleata Fitisemanu Maivia, she was introduced to the world of wrestling after she was adopted by famous Samoan-American wrestler, Peter Maivia and his wife, Ofelia 'Lia' Fuataga.
The 72-year-old met her former husband Rocky Johnson at a wrestling match. They exchanged vows in 1970 and two years later, they welcomed their son, Dwayne Johnson, in Hayward, California. However, after 30 years, the pair decided to split up. In 2003, they got divorced. However, the divorce did not affect Ata and Dwayne’s relationship as the latter remains quite close with her.
Ata is not the only inspiration for her son, but Johnson counts his three beautiful daughters as one too. A report by PEOPLE said that Dwayne once praised his mother for being a “high quality example” to his three daughters: Tiana Gia, 18 months, Jasmine Lia, 3½, and Simone Alexandra, 18. Wishing her on her birthday, he wrote, “Happy 71st Birthday to [the] best mom this lucky dude could ever be blessed with. Our family is so grateful you were born and for being such a high quality example to our baby girls.”
