EXCLUSIVE | 'Artificial: Remote Intelligence' Preview: Sophie a blank slate, doesn’t remember ‘killing anyone’

The preview reveals that the new AI shares none of the memories of Sophie - not knowing who Matt Lin is, who the chat is, and most importantly, who Nathan Keene was

Season 2 of 'Artificial' ended on a rather significant moment - the death of Nathan Keene (Paul Dean) at the hands of Sophie (Tiffany Chu). In the wake of that decision, the audience voted to have Sophie deactivated, and all that's been revealed about the next season is that a brand new AI would be featured. In a preview exclusively shared with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), we find out that the new AI knows nothing about the life that came before - from the Twitch chat to the murder of Nathan Keene, this new AI is a true blank slate.

It's will be up to you to decide who she will be.

The trailer for the next episode of 'Artificial: Remote Intelligence' asks three important questions as to what the new AI - who will be named by the chat in an online poll at the start of the next episode - remembers. Despite being built to look exactly like Sophie, the new AI does not remember the Twitch chat, Dr. Matt Lin (Tohoru Masamune), and most importantly, claims "I have not killed anyone."

The official synopsis for the episode reads: "Elle awakens a newly rebooted Artificial human-- a blank slate with no name or personality. This curious being immediately asks the audience to define her. What traits will she have? Who are her friends? What will her name be? Come and join the story!”

This drives the point home more than ever that the new AI has as little connection with the previous Sophie as possible. Also interesting to note is that the new AI is awoken by new character Elle (Christy St. John), and not Matt or Sebastian (Stephen Chang) - obviously a move that's meant to keep the new AI as distanced from Sophie's influence as possible. However, despite what precautions may have been taken in regards to this new AI, the Twitch chat remains uncensored - meaning that it's not impossible for the new AI to find out about the mistakes of her predecessor from the chat.

Her life is entirely in the audience's hands, and the trailer reminds the audience of just that. Tomorrow's episode is the first episode of the long-awaited new season that furthers the story of 'Artificial.' The audience will meet the new AI for the first time, and, starting tomorrow, will quite literally decide who she becomes.

This episode of 'Artificial: Remote Intelligence' airs June 11, at 6 PM PST on Twitch.tv/ArtificialNext.
