Are Nelly and Ashanti back together? Ex couple rekindle romance rumors as they sport matching Cuban link chains in Insta video
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Fans of rapper Nelly and R&B singer Ashanti believe the duo may have rekindled their romance when images of them both wearing similar Cuban link chains appeared online in a side-by-side video.
The pair broke up 10 years after they started dating in 2003, and as rumors have it they were one hot musician couple. After that, each went their own ways until they each made an appearance together in a 2021 ‘Verzuz’ match between Queens rapper Ja Rule and Bronx artist Fat Joe.

Chained together or not?
Nelly and Ashanti may have finally reconnected, despite the fact that they have both previously refuted dating rumors. As previously mentioned, the internet went bonkers over the two's close-knit performance they gave on stage. Fans especially know their sizzling chemistry from their performance of "Body On Me," a retro classic.
The power couple weren't able to escape fans’ speculation as followers quickly recognized how similar the chains were and started expressing their views in the comments section of the Fanmode2022 post. “I'm so here for this!” an admirer wrote. "Who else has been waiting for this reconciliation besides me?" another gushed. "Ashanti was the one that escaped! If true, happy for them!" One person wrote. "Now Nelly marries her and does the right thing," another said.
Is the couple back together?
The two were spotted together earlier this month leaving a concert in Tennessee and entering a bar. Then they took the stage in December of last year to perform at a Christmas performance in Arizona. Even though they have been spotted out together recently, none of the Grammy Award-winning performers has publicly addressed the rumors. When Ashanti appeared on Bravo's 'Watch What Happens Live' last year, a question regarding her relationship with Nelly was posed to her. As is known about their on-and-off relationship, they started dating after meeting at a Grammy press conference in 2003, and ended things a decade later.
Nelly and Ashanti’s fans can’t keep calm
Fans want to see them together, and Ashanti is well aware of this. She remarked, “I saw a lot of comments,” she said. “My reaction was wow. There were a lot of comments and a lot of people wanting that.”
In December, the ex-couple gave a performance as part of Power 98.3 and Power 96.1's "Under The Mistletoe" concert series in Glendale, Arizona. Following the discovery of a video of Ashanti and Nelly performing their 2008 duet "Body On Me," fans rushed social media to demand a reunion of the pair.
Revisiting the past, during a 2015 episode of 'The Meredith Vieira Show', Ashanti explained why the on-again, off-again couple split up, saying that she felt "betrayed" by the celebrity. Before their breakup in 2021, Nelly and Shantel Jackson, the ex-girlfriend of Floyd Mayweather Jr, were linked for six years. Irrespective of how things went between them, fans are excited by the prospect of Nelly and Ashanti getting back together.
