Chilling doorbell footage shows Anne Heche's Mini Cooper speeding down a quiet street moments before crash
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Spine-tingling doorbell camera footage captured Anne Heche, the ex-girlfriend of Ellen DeGeneres, racing in a BMW Mini Cooper along a peaceful suburban street in Mar Vista just before her horrifying accident. The 'Donnie Brasco' actress rammed a house with her car on Friday morning, August 5, starting a major fire.
Emergency personnel rescued Anne Heche from the car, and then took her to the hospital. Before the collision, she was reportedly traveling at 144 km per hour. David Manpearl, a neighbor, helped her out of the crash while recording it on film with his doorbell camera as the Mini raced down South Walgrove Avenue. He told the Daily Mail, “I heard a car go speeding by and looked out my window where I saw the car going about 90 miles an hour. Within seconds I heard a loud crash at which point I ran outside in my flip-flops because I knew someone was hurt and boy was I right.”

It's unknown if anyone else was inside the house at the time, and no one else was wounded. Another video showed burnt objects thought to be from the vehicle in the driveway and sidewalk, as well as the crash site being blocked off by police tape.
Dramatic photos of the wreckage show her mangled vehicle being towed after Anne was dragged out of the flaming car by firefighters. After the collision at around 11 am local time, the 53-year-old was observed writhing in pain while being carried on a stretcher.
According to reports, the actress can be heard crashing into an apartment complex's garage as neighbors rushed to help her. However, witnesses stated that Anne disregarded their assistance attempts and instead placed the car in reverse before speeding off again. One onlooker snapped a picture of the celebrity driving her wrecked vehicle while wearing tattered pants and a pink tank top.
The 53-year-old suffered burns in the fire, according to law police, leaving her hair and clothing charred. LAFD Capt Erik Scott told The Sun, “We really had a multifaceted incident here. We had a significant traffic collision, we had entrapment of a woman inside that, we had a car that erupted into a fire, and then we had a home that had a significant fire that is red-tagged. It’s at this point destroyed.”
