Angelina Jolie filed anonymous lawsuit as Jane Doe asking why FBI did not arrest Brad Pitt for assault
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress Angelina Jolie has now reportedly been identified as the 'Jane Doe' who filed a case against her ex Brad Pitt. The case that she allegedly filed sought an investigation into the allegations of physical and verbal assault in 2016. Jolie and Pitt parted ways in 2019. However, there was confusion regarding who Jane Doe was. This revelation comes amid the star couple's bitter divorce battle.
According to Puck News, the unnamed plaintiff in the suit has now been confirmed as the actress. The suit required the FBI to hand over documents on the investigation of Pitt after Jolie claimed that she was physically and verbally assaulted while the ex-couple and their children were flying on a private jet plane in 2016. The reasoning behind the suit filed by Jane Doe said, “It is about the agency’s investigation of an incident of domestic violence that occurred several years ago involving plaintiff and her minor children as victims and witnesses.”

The report by Puck News further stated that the suit filed by Doe said, “Several years ago, while plaintiff, her then-husband, and their children, who were all minors at the time, were traveling via private aircraft, the husband allegedly physically and verbally assaulted plaintiff and the children,”. The lawsuit was also pursued to “better understand the FBI’s investigation and obtain information necessary for her children to receive medical care and trauma counseling.”
The high-profile attorney Amanda Kramer, who is representing the plaintiff, stated, that Doe, filed the suit anonymously to 'preserve the family’s privacy.' Doe has also filed numerous requests for a copy of the department's investigative file in hopes of a better understanding of the FBI's investigation. The FBI cleared Pitt of any wrongdoing from Brad Pitt in a fight that happened during a private jet flight. The suit filed by Jolie states that Pitt put his hands on Jolie and poured beer onto her during the flight. He was said to be drinking and had taken her to the back of the plane, grabbed her shoulders, and shook her while yelling, "You’re f*****g up this family."
The story published by Puck states that Jolie complained about a lack of transparency regarding why the investigation was quickly closed. FBI later announced that they would not be charging Pitt. However, before the announcement, the agent investigating the incident 'prepared a statement of probable cause. It was presented to the chief of the Criminal Division of the US Attorney's Office in Los Angeles. However, the chief of the Criminal Division decided not to pursue any charges against Pitt. During that same flight, another physical attack was alleged to have taken place. Meanwhile, Jolie reported having injuries and sent a photo of her elbow to corroborate the same to her agent. It is claimed that this is the same flight where Brad allegedly struck Maddox, the oldest son of the couple. However, the actor has denied the same.
According to TMZ, sources close to the duo state, Jolie only filed the lawsuit in order to bring attention from the media to the allegations against Brad, claiming that she's already had all the requested information for years. However, Jolie had reportedly complained about a lack of transparency regarding the investigation. The duo met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005 and ended up dating for almost a decade. This eventually tied the couple to tie the knot in September 2014. However, Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, Though they became legally single in 2019, their custody battle has been going on for a while.
