MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Prince Harry was reportedly asked a hard question by Anderson Cooper about his current life on '60 Minutes' that aired on Sunday, January 8, to promote the former's upcoming memoir 'Spare'. Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their royal duties in January 2020 and moved to the US. Cooper then asked why the couple decided to retain their royal titles.

"Why not renounce your titles as Duke and Duchess?" Cooper, 55, asked. Harry, 38, replied, "And what difference would that make?" To which Cooper said, “One of the criticisms that you've received is that okay, fine, you wanna move to California, you wanna step back from the institutional role. Why be so public? Why reveal conversations you've had with your father or with your brother? You say you tried to do this privately," as per MSN.

'60 Minutes' viewers left baffled after Prince Harry BACKTRACKS on claims royal family is 'racist'

"And every single time I've tried to do it privately there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife. You know, the family motto is 'never complain, never explain. But it's just a motto. And it doesn't really hold," Harry said, as per Express.

While stating that he would never reveal anything about his family, Harry claimed he was now "trying to speak a language that perhaps they will understand." He said, “I will sit here and speak truth to you with the words that come out of my mouth, rather than using someone else, an unnamed source, to feed in lies or a narrative to a tabloid media that literally radicalises its readers to then potentially cause harm to my family, my wife, my kids.”

Some netizens say yes, others no

Soon, netizens took to social media to slam his claims. A person tweeted, "Title or not he will always be Prince Harry. And guess what? I lost my dad at a young age and my twin brother and I processed and grieved completely differently. William is the one who is jealous of Harry. Harry left the Royal family and the media STILL kept on the harassment." Another chimed in, "'Prince Harry'? Sure. THAT is a blood royal title. 'Duke of Sussex'? No. That is NOT a 'blood royal' title. It was given to him when he got married ... and it could be taken away."

A third said, "Prince Harry says what difference would it make giving up Royal title ?!? Well it proves you want your cake and eat it to..don’t criticise the institution and then not give up the title associated with it you whinging tosser." A fourth said, "Ur wife treats u like ur her dog. That's not a loving relationship. That is master and slave. She isn't happy unless she's the center of attention. She wanted marriage just 4 the title but NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY. She will make ur life miserable 4 the rest of ur life."

"Asked why not give up Sussex title. Prince Harry replied to Anderson Cooper"what difference will that make"? Amen, Harry! It will not stop the bigots and derangers from complaining or wailing about something else!!! Remember, if only pay back $2.4 for," said a fifth.

MEAWW previously reported that the portrayal of Queen Consort Camilla in 'Spare,' was perhaps the most critical. Despite having been romantically involved with Prince Charles on and off for years, she married him in 2005. Princess Diana once referred to Camilla as the "third person" in her marriage, which Harry has never forgotten. In the same interview, he called Queen Camilla "dangerous." The Duke of Sussex said that before of the book's release on Tuesday, January 10, "there was going to be bodies left in the street" when Camilla climbed to the role of Queen Consort.
