Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's shocking announcement to split from the royal family sparked reactions from not just fans and followers but also celebrities such as Amy Schumer, Andy Cohen among others.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced on Wednesday, January 8, that they would be stepping back as senior members of the royal family. They also shared that they plan to "work to become financially independent by starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution."

Many celebrities took to social media to express their thoughts on the matter. Some even cracked jokes regarding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's departure from the royal family.

Amy Schumer took to Instagram to share a picture of herself and her husband Chris Fischer and wrote, "Chris and I are formally stepping down from our royal duties. We appreciate your support."

The royals were sent some new job opportunities from The Daily Show and Andy Cohen. The Daily Show's official Twitter handle posted a picture of a list of requirements that were catered to the royal couple with the caption, "we're hiring".

Cohen commented saying, "Open invite for The Duchess to joining #RHOBH". Jameela Jamil took to Twitter to say, "And that folks is what power looks like."

Piers Morgan, who has been very vocal about his criticism regarding Harry and Meghan's decision, shared, "No, that's what spiteful treachery against your own family looks like. She's breaking up our royal family after fleecing the public purse. As a taxpayer and a Monarchist, I’m entitled to take a rather dim view of this."

Former cricketer Kevin Pietersen responded to Piers Morgan saying, "leave them alone, fatboy!" 'Southern Charm' star Cameran Eubanks wrote in support of the couple's decision and shared, "' This, above all, to thine own self be true. I admire you both."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's announcement came after their six-week-long break in Canada. The Buckingham Palace followed up on their announcement saying that discussions about the Duke and Duchess' plans are "at an early stage" and are "complicated".
