What time will ‘America's Most Wanted’ Season 26 air? How to live stream, watch for free and all about FOX crime show
Once the longest-running program in Fox history, 'America's Most Wanted' (AMW) will return to screens after nearly a decade away. The show, scrapped by Fox in 2011, will now be hosted by Elizabeth Vargas. Over its 25 seasons on Fox, the show helped capture more than 1,100 criminals including 17 who were on the FBI's Most Wanted list. If you are too young to remember, the show focuses on teaching audiences about crimes and criminals, with the goal of helping people spot wanted criminals.
Unlike its previous versions, the new avatar will be a decidedly high-tech affair, leaning into technology like augmented reality, 3D scanning and advancements in DNA research to help give viewers a more accurate representation. Audiences can also contact the show through social media, with tips being passed onto law enforcement agencies.
“We’re really excited by all the tools that the explosion in technology has provided us in the last 10 years," Vargas said in a promo clip. If that's got you hooked, here's everything you need to know about the show.
Release date
The show will premiere Monday, March 15, at 9:00 PM EDT on Fox. It will keep its original format of 30 minute weekly episodes. Help try to catch some of the nation’s most dangerous fugitives in the all-new “Glen Godwin, James Benson, and Jennifer Settle” series premiere episode.

Host
Elizabeth Vargas is a veteran journalist known for hosting '20/20' on ABC and co-anchoring 'World News Tonight' on the network. Her hard-hitting and occasionally controversial work led her to win an Emmy award in 1999. Vargas was awarded the honor for her coverage of Elián González. The previous year, she won her first nomination for her investigation into the wrongful conviction of Betty Tyson. In 2013, she won a Peabody Award for her contributions to the coverage of Hurricane Sandy.
Vargas has also publicly acknowledged her alcoholism, for which she has been treated multiple times. In 2016, she published a memoir, 'Between Breaths: A Memoir of Panic and Addiction' chronicling her struggles. She is also an advocate for rehab, saying, "maybe if I speak out, I can just let a little tiny bit of air out of that balloon of shame and isolation," in a podcast.
What's new?
Each week, Vargas will ask for viewers’ help as she breaks down cases from the show’s new headquarters, consulting with a team of experts representing law enforcement units such as the FBI, US Marshall’s Service and Secret Service.
The press release reads: "Returning at a time when social media and technology loom large in the public consciousness, 'America's Most Wanted' will offer a unique and urgent opportunity for viewers to be armchair detectives by helping law enforcement solve some of the toughest cases."
News
The show will see Vargas consulting with law enforcement to break down cases that haven't yet been solved. Viewers will get to see crimes reenacted, what suspects look like now, and potential trials. "Viewers at home can attempt to aid in the pursuit of justice by using social media to try and help law enforcement track down culprits and keep America’s neighborhoods safe," the website says.
