The new season of 'American Idol' is well underway, with a whole host of successful auditions making their happy way to Hollywood and some cringe-worthy failures barrelling through to balance it out. The judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie are continually on the lookout for the nation's next-level top talent, and this time, they might have hit the motherlode in the form of Kat Luna and Alejandro 'Space Cowboy' Garrido.

The young couple actually walked into the audition room together. Kat Luna, 19, and Space Cowboy, 26, revealed they had met at church and have been besotted with each other ever since. After some gentle ribbing by the judges who noticed that they walked in together hand-in-hand ("Is this 'American Idol: Ken & Barbie'?" from Luke Bryan was gold), the judges were ready to hear what the photogenic duo could bring to the table. The judges' interest was certainly piqued once they heard that Space Cowboy's real name was Alejandro, since another Alejandro did have quite a memorable impact on the show last season.

And the young couple did not disappoint -  permitted by the judges to audition together, they decided to sing 'Shallow' by Lady Gaga from 'A Star Is Born'. The way their beautiful voices melded together with magical harmonies prompted the judges to ask if they were even real people. Their pitch-perfect rendition was so good that Katy Perry blurted out "I love you" as soon as they finished singing, and she even had to struggle to hold back her tears.

They also noted that Kat sounded like Dua Lipa, while Alejandro could go by his nickname Alex, since another Alejandro had already made that name famous on the show. Seeing that it was rare for couples to successfully knock it out of the park while auditioning together, the couple was immediately ushered into the Hollywood round, with the judges guaranteeing that they would make the Top 10.

And social media certainly agreed as well — "OMG... Love it... This is the first time I've ever seen a couple get sent to Hollywood. YES, YES, YES... THIS MAKES ME SOOOOO FREAKIN HAPPY" said one enthusiastic fan, while another viewer stated "Yes, loved them!!! Beautiful couple!! Will be pulling for them both."

Ryan Seacrest himself seems to be a big fan, tweeting "Congrats Kat and Space Cowboy! You two together are unreal."

We can't wait to see how this young duo will do in Hollywood!
