'American Idol': Fans wish for Nicolina Bozzo to win, say 'only hope for this show'

A fan declared, 'If Nicolina doesn’t win… #AmericanIdol can go ahead and end for good'

After fan-favorite contestants like Christian Guardino and Jay Copeland got voted out on 'American Idol' Season 20, fans are now pinning all their hopes on Nicolina Bozzo to win the singing competition show.

The recently aired episode of the ABC reality talent hunt show featured the Top 7 contestants vying for a spot in the Top 5 round. When the show's host Ryan Seacrest announced that the top 5 contenders would get an opportunity to be mentored by 'American Idol' alum Carrie Underwood, the stakes got higher. Despite their best attempts to woo the audience with their impeccable performances, Christian and Jay were shown the door when they failed to garner enough votes from the audience. This left Fritz Hager, Noah Thompson, Leah Marlene, HunterGirl, and Nicolina, as the remaining contenders in the competition. Unfortunately, fans don't seem to be very excited by the top 5 lineup and felt that Nicolina was the only redeeming contestant amongst them.

"If Nicolina doesn’t win… #AmericanIdol can go ahead and end for good.," announced a fan. "Just so you know Nicolina is amazing and she’s deserving to win just like Christian Guardino was but American Idol has turned in “Country Idol.” And you can just tell because the past few winners have been country…#AmericanIdol," pointed out a fan. 

Another fan shared, "All that matters is nicolina wins idrc #americanidol." "Nicolina better make it to the finale in a couple weeks. She is just that good. @NicolinaBozzo #AmericanIdol," expressed a fan. "Nicolina won this competition a LONG time ago! #AmericanIdol," added a fan.

'American Idol' Season 20 airs every Sunday at 8/7c on ABC.
