The power is in the audiences' hands to decide the fate of 'American Idol' Season 20's contestants, and it looks like it takes a lot more than just impeccable vocals to please them. That's the only explanation the show's fans could come up with after host Ryan Seacrest announced Scarlet Aylizi's elimination following her top 24 performance.

Dan Marshall, Danielle Finn, and Scarlet, were the last three standing from group 1, competing for the last spot on the top 20 list. So, when Ryan announced that the audience had voted for Dan to move to the show's next round which meant that Danielle and Scarlet's journey came to an end, fans were surprised. While Danielle took the bad news with grace and thanked everybody for the opportunity, Scarlet looked puzzled and annoyed. Just like Scarlet, fans too were puzzled with the result and wondered if the 'bad edit' that she received during the Hollywood Week's duet round had something to do with her elimination.

Was Scarlet eliminated due to a 'bad edit' on 'American Idol'?

During the Hollywood Week's duet round, Scarlet was teamed up with Douglas Mills. She was frustrated with her fellow singer's struggle to memorize their song's lines. This led to Scarlet storming out angrily during their rehearsals. Though she joined back later and apologized to her teammate for her behavior, and the duo managed to put up a decent performance, it looks like fans haven't gotten over it.

After hearing about Scarlet's elimination many fans felt that the audience may have voted her out because of her attitude and the bad edit she received on the show. Since she always wowed the judges with her performances, fans couldn't think of any other reason for Scarlet's untimely elimination from the ABC show. A fan tweeted, "Scarlet was robbed. She was set up to fail after she was given a bad edit during the duet round. Complete bs. #AmericanIdol." "The only reason scarlet didn’t make it is because of how they edited her duet round, it has nothing to do with talent… i understood her frustration but I guess it was off-putting to others idk #AmericanIdol," wrote a fan. "The ONLY reason scarlet might not make it is because of what happened in the duet round.. cause other than that she is a really good performer #AmericanIdol," continued the fan in another tweet.

Another fan shared, "WTH!! Scarlet didn't make it... But Dan did.... #AmericanIdol." "Scarlet is PISSED! #americanidol," observed a fan. "Honestly I don't think he deserved the last spot over Scarlet or Danielle but to each it's own. They're the judges so," commented a fan on the show's YouTube page.
