Is Dan Marshall the dark horse of 'American Idol' Season 20? Well, it seems like it. The football player managed to woo the audience enough to earn a spot in the coveted top 20 list, despite his lackluster performance during the top 24 round.

When the ABC singing competition show's host Ryan Seacrest announced that Dan had made it through to top 20 while his fellow teammates Danielle Finn and Scarlet Ayliz were eliminated, fans had some strong feelings about it. Aside from fuming over Danielle and Scarlet's premature elimination from the competition, many fans couldn't help but wonder how Dan made it to the top 20. To rub salt in the disgruntled fans' wounds, Dan's top 20 performance once again fell short leaving them further disappointed.
