Ever since 'American Idol' host Ryan Seacrest announced that fan-favorite contestant Kenedi Anderson decided to quit the show for 'personal reasons', fans have been searching high and low for an explanation. The platinum ticket holder was pegged to become the winner of the show's historic season 20, so her abrupt exit without any concrete explanation left everybody flustered.

Though Kenedi took to her Instagram to thank everybody for their support, she kept the reason behind her decision to leave the competition very vague by citing 'personal reasons' and declared that it was a very difficult decision for her to make. Considering Kenedi is an artist, it shouldn't come as a surprise that she decided to channel all her reasons and explanations into her music. The teen took to her TikTok page on Wednesday, April 13, to share a brief clip of her new song. She can be heard singing, "I need to find, need to find something better than what I had, and with no strings attached... Don't I deserve that? Something with no strings attached." This immediately prompted the fans into thinking that the 'American Idol' alum may have bagged a record deal.

In the brief clip she posted on her TikTok page, Kenedi starts off by explaining that she wrote the song "not too long ago". "Here is the chorus of a song I wrote not too long ago," she shared before launching into the tune while playing her piano. "I need to find, need to find something better than what I had, and with no strings attached. Don't I deserve that? Something with no strings attached," she ended her brief performance by teasing her followers that it was all they would be getting.

The song quickly went viral and her comments section was flooded with questions on if she signed a deal with a recording label. A fan tweeted, "Kennedi probably got a record deal and got the hell out of doge! #AmericanIdol." "#Kenedi probably already signed to a deal. #AmericanIdol," wrote another fan. "How much you wanna bet personal reasons means Kenedi got a deal and therefore can’t be on #AmericanIdol," added a fan.

Considering all the controversies that the ABC show has been dragged into over the infamous contracts that the winners have to sign, several fans felt that Kenedi played it smart by quitting the show and pursuing other opportunities if she indeed signed up with a label. A fan shared, "Money says Kenedi got a deal and didn’t need AI to get in the business and for that dropping out early is the right thing to do. #AmericanIdol." "Kenedi? I sense no hesitation and genuine excitement. She got a deal she couldnt refuse and the exec who landed her has a mega star. #AmericanIdol," speculated a fan. "I don't blame Kenedi Anderson for leaving #AmericanIdol. If she can get a better deal somewhere else take it. Especially if she writes her own songs. And won't be restricted by Idol on what and what she can release," observed a fan.
