Was Nicolina Bozzo voted out of 'American Idol' for being Canadian? Fans say 'America LOVES mediocracy'
Week after week Nicolina Bozzo got onto stage and wowed 'American Idol' fans and judges with her powerhouse vocals. From picking a villain's song during the Disney Week to adding her own spin on classic ballads, the 18-year-old's talents always managed to bring her A-game on the singing competition show, and many fans were rooting for her to win the competition.
So, when 'American Idol' host Ryan Seacrest announced that the powerhouse vocalist failed to bag a spot in the finale, fans were shocked. Nicolina's Top 5 round performance was highly appreciated by the show's judges- Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. Even guest mentor Carrie Underwood pointed out that Nicolina's vocals were impeccable, so when the youngster failed to earn a spot amongst the Top 3, fans had some strong feelings about it and began wondering if her Canadian nationality had anything to do with it.

The theory seems to hold some weight as prior to the announcement of the Top 3 contestants, few fans questioned why Nicolina was on 'American Idol' when she's from Canada.
