Amber Heard's attorney Elaine Bredehoft has gained sympathy and support online, including from Johnny Depp's fans, who believe the lawyer looks 'drained'. This comes after reports claimed Heard had screamed at her legal team outside the courtroom.

Support for Bredehoft only increased after the lawyer struggled during questioning during testimony on Tuesday, May 17. Johnny Depp's lawyer, Camille Vasquez, objected to every other question of Bredehoft as she cross-examined Heard on her last day on the stand. The judge preceding the case sustained the objections several times. Sighing helplessly, Bredehoft said, "I'm trying here, I'm trying."

Johnny Depp fans trend #WeJustDontLikeYouAmber, double down on hashtags slamming Heard

Johnny Depp's STARE goes viral as he shoots daggers at Whitney Henriquez during 'staircase' testimony

Meanwhile, several witnesses testified in the highly-publicized case last week.  Among the witnesses was a social media expert and member of Amber Heard’s legal team, Ron Schnell, testified that the #JusticeForJohnnyDepp hashtag has been the biggest trending topic of the pair's trial so far. Schnell, a member of the Berkeley Research Group, testified on May 19 that millions of tweets tagged with the ‘Justice For Johnny’ hashtag were ‘all’ negative towards Amber Heard. Heard's legal team has alleged that Depp has been executing a social media smear campaign against Heard, which is being orchestrated through his former lawyer, Adam Waldman. Schnell identified three major spikes in the usage of hashtags, that were so massive that they overwhelmed all other related trends. He claimed that all of these occurred simultaneously alongside Waldman’s two statements to the court and Depp’s 2020 libel trial in the UK. It is, however, impossible to conclusively prove Schnell’s claims.

Ever since the trial began, Amber Heard has been brutally vilified and has been the victim of a massive media trial. Besides numerous trending hashtags against the actress, an online petition has demanded that Heard be removed from the 'Aquaman' sequel. By May 3, the petition had received three million signatures. By May 17, the number was close to 4.5 million. In fact, after Schnell's comments in court, Johnny Depp fans doubled down on hashtags slamming Heard, with '#WeJustDontLikeYouAmber' beginning to trend on Twitter.

Elaine Bredehoft, who is representing Heard, had earlier claimed that the actress’ 2018 op-ed “addresses a very serious issue of public concern: domestic violence.” The lawyer is a veteran in her field with more than three decades of experience. In 2020, after Depp lost the defamation battle with a UK-based tabloid after being called “wife beater”, Bredehoft reacted to it and said, “For those of us present for the London High Court trial, this decision and judgment are not a surprise. Very soon, we will be presenting even more voluminous evidence in the US. We are committed to obtaining justice for Amber Heard in the US court and defending Ms Heard’s Right to Free Speech.”Bredehoft was recently mocked after she compared Heard to Cuban actress Ana de Armas, claiming that the actress would have earned approximately $5 million to $10 million each year over the previous five years. With many people claiming Heard was unable to find a job in Hollywood due to her poor acting skills, Bredehoft's comparison of Heard to the successful actress made her a victim of online trolls. Just days ago, Bredehoft was also slammed for making fun of Johnny Depp’s voice from an earlier audio recording in which actor had said: “You will not see my eyes again.” The lawyer imitated the statement in court, and although Depp seemed to laugh at her bizarre behavior, social media users were clearly not happy.

'She just has an evil client'

Despite the hatred Heard is faced with, her lawyer seems to have gained Team Johnny's sympathy. "OK I'm not going cray cray but let's show Elaine some love, she looks like she's at rock bottom and she's just doing her job ambers caused all of this so #justiceforelaine #ElaineBredehoft," one user wrote on Twitter. "Elaine doesn't deserve the hate she gets! She's a good lawyer, she just has an evil client! You can tell she is totally drained from this experience! It's Amber's fault anyone in that court room is going through this insanity," wrote another. One user said, "Elaine Bredehoft is a top lawyer in Washington. Even the top lawyer can't defend Amber. Ya'll stop saying sh** about her, she's just doing her job as a lawyer. It's just a really hard case."

While one user said, "Amber Heard screaming at lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft and reducing her to tears is unacceptable. Another example of #amberheard ruining someone’s career. Elaine doesn’t deserve that vitriol," another commented, "I can see she's really struggling. She looks like she's not getting much sleep because of #AmberTurd. I'm sure that she's trying to be good at her job, but AH is making it harder by lying about everything. #ElaineBredehoft has a good reputation and yet AH keeps on ruining iT." "I do feel bad for her. She has a good reputation and yet it'll only be destroyed by AH, I'm 100% sure AH lied to them & make them believe that she was really abused. I hope she doesn't get too much hate anymore, she has a family too, and she's just doing her job," one user wrote.
