'One can act, one can't': Amber Heard's lawyer mocked for comparing actress to Ana de Armas
Amber Heard was compared to the famous Cuban actress Ana de Armas by her lawyer. During the current defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, the Aquaman star's agent revealed how she missed out on multiple employment possibilities as a result of the public criticism over her alleged abuse of Depp. Jessica Kovacevic, Heard's WME representative, was one of the final witnesses called by the actor's attorneys to testify, according to Variety.
Kovacevic said, "No one can say out loud, 'We’re taking this away from her because of this bad press,’ because it’s nothing she did. It’s all hearsay, and it’s all whatever. But there’s no other reason.” 'Aquaman' should have led to additional possibilities for Heard, Jessica said, but in the previous two years, the actor has only been in 'Aquaman 2' and an independent film called 'In the Fire.' Heard was also withdrawn from an Amazon feature with Gael Garcia Bernal, according to the agent.

Is Amber Heard's career over? Insiders say Hollywood has had ENOUGH of her erratic behavior
After the agent’s testimony, Elaine Bredehoft, Amber Heard's lawyer, went on to compare her to Cuban actress Ana de Armas, claiming that Heard might as well have followed in her footsteps. When comparing Heard's career to that of Ana de Armas, her lawyer also claimed that the actress would have earned approximately $5 million to $10 million each year over the previous five years. Ana de Armas is a well-known actress who has starred in a number of highly acclaimed television shows and films, including ‘Deep Water,’ ‘Knives Out,’ ‘Blade Runner 2049,’ ‘No Time To Die,’ and others.
Bredehoft's comparison of Heard to the successful celebrity has shocked the internet. Many people claimed that Heard was unable to find a job in Hollywood due to her poor acting skills. One person wrote on Twitter, “Amber Heard is in no way comparable to Ana de Armas in ANY way, but especially in terms of acting talent and general affability. I can't believe Amber's defense team even dared to make that type of comparison. Are you kidding me 😂?” “Can we never ever compare Ana de Armas to Amber Heard again???? One can act. One can’t. #DeppVsHeard” another user added. Someone wrote, “How dare they compare Ana De Armas to Amber Heard. Ana deserves better.” “Ana De Armas is way above Amber Heard. What was that crap witness? She can’t get a job because she can’t act,” yet another person remarked.

Heard previously stated that she had to battle hard to be a part of the 'Aquaman' sequel since the producers did not want her to act with Jason Momoa. Heard said, "I fought really hard to stay in the movie. They didn’t want to include me in the film, I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it that depicted my character and another character — without giving any spoilers away — two characters fighting with one another. They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch out.”
Heard and her lawyers are attempting to argue in their $100 million countersuit that the remarks made by Depp's lawyer Adam Waldman in 2020 affected her career. Adam said Heard had fabricated her accounts of abuse and said that, in reality, Depp was the victim of abuse. Depp is suing his ex-wife over a 2018 op-ed piece she penned for The Washington Post. Heard called herself a ‘public figure representing domestic abuse,’ with an indirect reference to Depp. The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star has claimed this tarnished both his personal and professional life.
