Amber Heard got bruises on her neck and face while Johnny Depp was out of the country, reveals witness
Amber Heard was seen with bruises when her former husband Johnny Depp was out of the country, a witness for Depp's legal team has said. Trinity Esparza, a concierge, reportedly claimed that she saw hand marks on Heard's neck nearly two weeks after Depp allegedly threw a phone at her. Esparza is the head concierge at Los Angeles' Eastern Columbia building, where the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star owns multiple units.
While Heard had claimed that she was injured on the right side of her face in the confrontation with Depp, Esparza stated that she saw a mark on the left side of the 34-year-old 'Aquaman' star's face, according to the Mirror. The concierge said that she saw a bruise on Heard's cheek and two finger marks around her neck.
"She dropped her keys down the elevator chute," Esparza said explaining how she noticed the marks. "She had bruises on her neck and a Band-Aid." The concierge has also claimed that Depp was not even in the country when Heard was injured as part of her deposition in his defamation suit against the actress. Depp has reportedly asked for $50 million in the suit. Heard had previously claimed that Depp, on May 21, 2016, had thrown his phone at her in a fit of rage.
Depp's legal team will also reportedly sue the deposition in his libel suit against News UK in response to The Sun calling Depp a "wife beater." Depp's lawyer Adam Waldman said Esparza's deposition proves he could not have injured Heard.
"It turns out, Amber Heard actually was damaged in June 2016, with finger-shaped marks on her throat, bandaged arm, and a bruised left eye," Waldman said. "The one person we know did not do it is Johnny Depp, who had been on tour and out of the country for [two] weeks."
Depp arrived in London on June 20 to begin a two-week quarantine before his libel suit. Depp is suing Heard for defamation after she implied in a 2018 Washington Post article that he had abused her. She, however, did not use his name. Depp, however, has argued that Heard was the one abusing him. He has released text messages and recordings the former couple shared, which suggests that both of them may have been engaged in a mutual campaign of physical and emotional abuse.
Depp, in November 2013, allegedly sent text messages to his friend, actor Paul Bettany, where he appeared to admit to abusing alcohol and drugs and behaving abusively toward Heard. "I’m gonna properly stop the booze thing, darling… Drank all night before I picked Amber up to fly to LA, this past Sunday," he wrote in the message. "Ugly, mate …. No food for days … powders … half a bottle of whiskey, a thousand red bull and vodkas, pills, 2 bottles of Champers on plane and what do you get??? … An angry, aggro Injun in a f***in’ blackout, screaming obscenities and insulting any f*** who got near …I’m done … I am admittedly too f***ed in the head to spray my rage at the one I love … For little reason, as well I’m too old to be that guy. But, pills are fine!!!" the star allegedly wrote.
While Heard, in audio released in January this year, was heard admitting hitting Depp and throwing pots and pans at her. Another similar recording showed her mocking him for claiming to be a victim of domestic abuse.
