'Always says good morning': Amber Heard dubbed as 'very polite' by locals amid low-key living in Spain
COSTITX, SPAIN: Five months after the controversial defamation trial against former husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard has now decided to stay away from mess and industry drama as she starts a low-key life with daughter Oonagh in a town called Costitx situated in Mallorca, a Spanish Island. Heard has been using a pseudonym to hide her identity. However, it appears that the locals have identified her as hot off the press, as 'The Rum Diary' actress has been dubbed polite by the locals and is "treated like one of the others."
As per El Mundo, locals said, "she is like anyone else, she buys fruit and vegetables, she speaks Spanish with a Mexican accent, and she’s very polite. She always says good morning to us." The ‘Aquaman' star has rented a luxury villa in the historical town of Costitx, under the name of frontierswoman Martha Jane Cannary aka Calamity Jane. The stunning 5,000-plus square-foot home is originally owned by a local politician who recently got released after serving seven years of a 14-year sentence on corruption charges. It is not confirmed how much Heard is paying for the luxurious villa.

Extending her stay in the town, Heard is taking every right step to blend perfectly with the community. And it seems like she has succeeded in the task as she managed to win the hearts of her locality. As per the Spanish newspaper, El Mundo, a shopkeeper said that they “recognized her right away, but no one said anything because people in Costix, a town of just 1,270 inhabitants, don’t bother anyone and just live and let live.”

“Everyone here treats her like one of the others; in fact, she’s been in this town for months without anyone knowing,” a resident of the town, Miguel, told El Mundo. The locals revealed Heard speaks Spanish with a little Mexican accent and takes her daughter to the playground just like other local mothers. “She is like anyone else, she buys fruit and vegetables, she speaks Spanish with a Mexican accent, and she’s very polite. She always says good morning to us,” they added.
It is speculated that besides her daughter, the ‘Drive Angry’ star is staying in Spain with her alleged girlfriend, Bianca Butti. This vacation trip of the star came when she is yet to pay Johnny Depp $10.35 million. Heard’s suit against Depp ended in June with the court ordering her to pay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages plus $350,000 in punitive damages for defaming him in a 2018 op-ed piece she wrote for The Washington Post.
Earlier this week another report stated that her debt has grown as she is yet to pay her lawyers as well. She reportedly owes the law firm more than $15 million. Amber changed lawyers yet again in her attempt to force two insurance firms to pick up the multimillion-dollar bill for her libel payout. She has also sold her California home in an effort to pay off her debts.
