MOSCOW, IDAHO: It was recently reported that Steve Goncalves, father of Idaho murder victim Kaylee Goncalves, came up with concerns regarding the investigation. Criticizing the police for their investigation at different junctures, the report said that the father claimed the victims had "big open gouges" that were clearly the work of a "sadistic male". He also reportedly called the cops "cowards" for not publicly sharing the details. However, it has now been revealed that Steve never made those statements.

Slamming the report, Steve's other daughter and Kaylee's sister Alivea Goncalves said in a Facebook discussion forum: "Hi, Steve's daughter, Kaylee's sister here. I hate to make the post but unfortunately, this reporter got bad information. We are also working with the lawyer to get this removed but wanted to let you know from the source: this information was not given to anyone at Fox from our family."

The four students of the University of Idaho, namely, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, her best friend Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and her boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20,  were murdered on November 13.

During an interview with Fox News Digital, the slain victim's father detailed his interaction with Coroner, Cathy Mabbutt. He said, "She says, sir, I don't think stabs is the right word, it was like tears like this was a strong weapon, not like a stab." He further added, "She said these were big open gouges. She said it was quick. These weren't something where you were going to be able to call 911. They were not going to slowly bleed out."

Further, Steve stated, "I got outraged by them not just coming out and saying this was a woman or a man because they should know by the amount of strength it took to deliver the injuries," he said. "They're just being cowards. There are girls walking around the street right now that deserve to know. They should be looking out for a sadistic male." Meanwhile, the cops are yet to name a suspect in the case.

Steve also said that his daughter's injuries "definitely did not match" Mogen's wounds. "They may have individually died from the exact same thing, being stabbed, but there are more details. They're not even close to matching. The knife slashed open Kaylee Goncalves' liver and lungs." He later added, "I have my own suspicions."

Meanwhile, Robbie Johnson, public information officer for the Moscow Police Department said in a statement that they will not comment on or release specific details of the crime. "It is what we must do to preserve the integrity of the investigation. We want more than an arrest. We want justice. It takes time to do it right." While it was later revealed that the report of the knife wounds could be false, Internet sleuths thought that the news was utterly horrifying.

While Reddit forum revealed Alivea's alleged statements, some of them still believe that Steve's statements are true. This is because Fox News has not yet removed/modified the content on its website. Meanwhile, Steve previously mentioned, "The officers they look me straight in their eyes lead to detective look me in his eyes. I have no doubt he is working as hard as he can. But somebody isn’t communicating. There’s nothing being released. It seems like they are trying to suppress the story." In another interview with Fox News, Steve also alleged that the murder was primarily targeted at Kaylee and that could be why the suspect had to climb up the stairs to the third floor,  "I'm not a professional, so I want to specify that, but they've said the entry point was the slider or the window. It was the middle floor. So, to me, he doesn't have to go upstairs." He added, "Looks like he may have not gone downstairs. We don't know that for sure, but he obviously went upstairs. So I'm using logic that he chose to go up there when he didn't have to."

' It's been really obvious that a man did this, not a woman'

The Internet quickly reacted to the recent update and developed their own theories. In one of the discussions on Reddit, a user said, "It's truly terrifying. Horrific." Another user added, "This makes me so so sad… what the hell has actually happened here, those injuries sound absolutely brutal and if this was targeted that person had REAL rage for these people? And if it wasn’t targeted and along SK lines it’s terrifying to think someone that can do this to 4 people is loose - I just can’t comprehend the fear these 4 would of felt that night."

Another added, "Horrific wound(s)to the lungs could certainly prevent a victim from screaming and the liver sits right at the margin of the lower ribcage. Not saying I agree with SG’s choices in speaking out but IMO this is a unimaginably stressed, grief stricken parent who feels helplessness about what happened and is trying to get some control back." A user stated, "As bad as it sounds, at least it’s clear that it was quick. They may not have had time to process what was happening which would be better than a slow death." A user wondered, "Super sad. I think it's been really obvious for quite a while now that a man did this, not a woman. I don't think anyone actually ever thought that was a question (though they may have pretended to)."

A user also alleged, "So it sounds like Xana woke up after or during her boyfriends attack if she was the only one with defence wounds. This is honestly terrifying and the depths of the wounds are really horrific." Another comment read, "If I had a son or daughter on this campus, I would want to know if my child was safe. Other than saying this was targeted, police have given no details to confirm others are safe. I think this dad wants others to know that a brutal murderer could still be out there. Police seem to be hiding behind the “we don’t want to compromise the investigation.” Because as a parent I sure as heck would want to know more about why my child is safe to stay there."

Another explained, "He has stated multiple that their wounds didn’t match, in my opinion it may be because whomever was stabbed first (Maddie?) could have a kill shot straight to neck or heart. As where Kaylee may have been awaken by her bedmate getting attacked so her wounds were more profound. I’m obviously speculating here based off what he has said. Absolutely heartbreaking to even imagine that sweet girl being awake/aware of what was happening to her. I think the same situation might apply to E&X as well. First victim in bed asleep, the second was awoken. Sadistic, just like he said."
