Alexander Skarsgård FINALLY confirms first baby with Tuva Novotny after keeping it a secret for months
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: It’s an ‘yeah baby’ kind of moment for Alexander Skarsgård. The 46-year-old actor confirmed that he welcomed his first child with girlfriend Tuva Novotny to ET's Rachel Smith. The revelation came at the 'Succession' season 4 premiere at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
When Skarsgård was congratulated on the new addition to his family, he grinned and remarked, "Thank you very much." Skarsgård and Novotny were photographed out in public with their infant in November 2022, but the couple did not confirm their romance back then.

Skarsgård stepping into parenthood
While he was seen out with the new infant in November 2022, he has remained silent on the subject. On the red carpet, the ‘Big Little Lies’ alum proudly displayed a plush animal. "I got this on the red carpet," he stated as he held up the small toy. "Thank you, thank you, thank you." The happy event was confirmed after months of suspense. According to Page Six, he was spotted out with Swedish actress Tuva, who was pushing a stroller, in November, and he appeared to be holding the newborn in a bundle of blankets. She originally showed off a baby bump some months before that. Tuva apparently has a daughter named Ella from a previous relationship.
According to Alexander, this is only the beginning of parenting. He told Chelsea Handler in 2013 that he expected to have a large family. "I want to beat my dad," he stated during the interview, referring to his father, famed ‘Dune’ actor Stellan Skarsgard. Alexander, whose brothers Bill Skarsgard and Gustaf Skarsgard are also actors, hailed their large family, extolling the joys of "growing up in a madhouse."
From no-marriage to yes-baby
In terms of marriage, the Emmy nominee told The London Times in November 2018 that he refuses to "settle" down and marry. "I'm not going to... say, 'Oh, you’re all right — let’s make a family," he explained. “I’m more romantic than that. I have friends who’ve done that, and they’re not happy, and then they go through horrible divorces.”
The ‘Stand’ alum initially said he was "truly enjoying life right now" without a wife and children. Tables have turned for Skarsgard, as he was seen walking alongside the Stockholm native while cradling a blanket-wrapped baby in his arms.
Skarsgård is most recognised for his part in the highly acclaimed HBO drama 'Succession'. Lukas Matsson, played by Skarsgård, is a clever digital CEO whose streaming firm, GoJo, is merging with Logan Roy's Waystar Royco. The actor, who joined the series in season 3, has also given incredible performance in the latest movie 'Infinity Pool' co-starring beside Mia Goth.
