CLARKSVILLE, GEORGIA: Iconic country singer Alan Jackson looked completely unrecognizable in a flashback shot he shared on social media last Christmas. The musician's silence regarding his health continues to make his fans worry, especially after strange death rumors surfaced on social media a few weeks ago.

Jackson is seen sitting on Santa's lap in the black-and-white picture while grinning slyly at the camera. The caption read, "Did someone say #ThrowbackThursday?" The picture of a young Jackson appearing to be charmed by Santa Claus and Christmas was adored by many of his followers in the comments. "So cute," said one commenter. "Precious memories," another fan exclaimed. A third follower said, "Love. This!"

Jackson revealed in September 2021 that he had been battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. It is a genetic neurological illness that results in progressive loss of muscle mass and numbness in the arms and legs. Soon after, Jackson declared that he would embark on the Last Call Tour from June through October.
"I’ve always admired my heroes like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn and Charley Pride who just played as much as they wanted to, as long as they could,” Jackson explained in a statement at the time. “I’ve always thought I’d like to do that, and I’d like to as long as my health will allow. I’ll try to do as much as I can, but if I’m comin’ your way, come see me."
Despite finishing most of the tour, he was forced to postpone his final two performances because of balance problems. Jackson received the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the CMA Awards last month.
A couple of weeks ago, rumors regarding Jackson's death floated on the internet. Twitter and Facebook were filled with posts celebrating Jackson's career and mourning his life. The death hoax was started by the website FNEWS2, which wrote on Facebook, “With a heavy heart as we report the sad news of 64-year-old Singer Alan Jackson" without citing any credible sources. This article was quickly debunked by several websites. Jackson himself posted a video on Instagram shortly after, signaling to his fans that he was alive and well.
Jackson has won a whopping 16 Country Music Awards throughout his career and two Grammys. Additionally, the 64-year-old continues to have approximately 7 million monthly Spotify listeners. The songs 'Chattahoochee,' 'Good Time,' 'Little Bitty,' 'Drive,' and 'It's Five O'Clock Somewhere (with Jimmy Buffet)' are among his most well-known.
