Last week, Australian rapper Iggy Azalea's American Airlines flight ticket to Los Angeles was sold by the company. The 31-year-old musician had taken to Twitter to slam the airlines for leaving her stranded with her two-year-old son, Onyx at the Miami International Airport in Florida.

Now the airport staff has responded to Azalea's claims, stating that the reason her ticket was sold was that she arrived at the terminal at 5:30 pm for her 6 pm flight. Airline sources told TMZ that the rapper was able to check her bags and go through security, but someone in her party got held up at TSA.

The sources told the portal that boarding ended 15 minutes before departure, leaving Azalea 15 minutes to check baggage, get through security and get to the gate. When she managed to reach the gate, the door had already closed. Though her baggage made it on the plane, it will be sent back to her home.

Meanwhile, Azalea had tweeted, "I wanted to tell any families booking travel be careful flying with young kids on @AmericanAir. I was flying with my son & they sold our seats while the gate was still open then refused to take our bags off the plane although every other flight was sold out for that night." It was followed up by another tweet that said, "I explained why stranding me is one thing but taking a babies luggage is pretty shit. There's stuff he really needs. They do not care. Lucky I booked a different airline but the average person would’ve been ass out and fucked i so just wanted to warn other moms... Be careful! [sparkly heart emoji]."

"Anyway on the bright side I was SOOO proud of onyx guys. He was so good! We didn’t get home til 3 am after all that... he didn't cry once! Ughhh I'm so lucky to be his mama! He makes any bad day good, I just love my baby so damn muuuuch [sparkly heart emoji] [crying emoji]," Azalea tweeted later.

When the official Twitter account of the airline replied to her tweet, saying, "We love having families travel with us and would like to dig a little more into what happened. Please DM us to verify your record locator," she responded, "No need to dig into anything [laughing cat emoji]. Me & other families have shared our apparently VERY common experiences of your airline selling kids seats after check in, leaving families stranded, refusing to give back luggage etc. just peep the thread - it's very on brand for you apparently! [shrugging woman emoji]."

Azalea even posted a screenshot of her message to the airline's Instagram account. "And I did politely DM... still no response. Y'all be bullshittingggggg. [woozy face emoji]," she tweeted. The rapper further quoted the airline's reply with a meme image and advised a follower saying, "Girl get there 3 hours early and don't leave the gate! Genuinely wishing you both a happy trip!!!!"
