'I don't want to fight nature': Drew Barrymore vows to never undergo any kind of plastic surgery on her face
NEW YORK, NEW YORK CITY: In the wake of celebrities speaking out against anti-aging injectables and procedures, Drew Barrymore vowed to never go under the knife as she planned to age normally and let her true natural beauty shine in the coming years.
The 47-year-old Hollywood actress, who is also the founder of Flower Beauty, said that she didn’t “subscribe” to the social norm that women must look young. The ‘Scream’ star recently appeared with Jamie Lee Curtis at New York Comic Con for an interesting segment of 'The Drew Barrymore Show'. During the segment, Barrymore and the Curtis spoke about ageism, something that the 'Freaky Friday' actress has been speaking about for a long time now.

“I've never messed with my face,” Barrymore said. “I don't want to fight nature. I’m raising two daughters and we were raised in an industry where it was desired to drink off the fountain of youth and I just never subscribed to it. So I appreciate everything you said.” She went on to express her opinion on how women should embrace aging naturally, stating, "And I think men just need to let women know aging is safe and awesome.”
Barrymore, who has two daughters, Frankie, eight, and Olive, nine, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman, is among the few celebrities who has never shied away from speaking against plastic surgery. Earlier this year, she admitted on her show that she would definitely go overboard once she started getting plastic surgery or other procedures to change her appearance.
"The thing that I do care about and I do feel is still relevant to my life is the face. I know myself. I'm a highly addictive person. I do one injection, I'm going to look like Jocelyn Wildenstein by Friday," she joked. Barrymore then revealed from an early age she knew that she is not interested in getting plastic surgeries done. "I think because I'm so rebellious that I saw all of that pressure and I saw all of those women torturing themselves to look a certain way and I thought, 'You miserable people,'" Barrymore stated.
The actress added: 'I feel more human and more vulnerable every year of my life but I also know how to appreciate every year more and more too.'
As for Curtis, she recently spoke against Botox and plastic surgery during an interview with TODAY. "I did plastic surgery,” the 'True Lies' alum said. “I put Botox in my head. Does Botox make the big wrinkle go away? Yes. But then you look like a plastic figurine.”
