All you 'Adventure Time' lovers, there's some good news for you, as the seminal series will return to the small screen. As part of HBO Max's first year of original content, the Cartoon Network original will be getting a spin-off titled 'Adventure Time: Distant Lands', which comprises of four specials that each tell an intriguing story. We'll get to see our favorites, BMO, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, Peppermint Butler, Finn and Jake and their mishaps within the aftermath of 'Come Along With Me', the original series finale. As these will be around 45 minutes each, many fans hope that they will finally get the answers to many of the questions they had since the finale. As we last saw, many kingdoms were still fighting, Simon decided to go find Betty, the Ice King ruled over Ice Kingdom and Lumpy Space Princess became a Lumpy Space queen. It would be a bonus if we get to see how (if ) the Land of Ooo has changed and what things look like for its citizens.

In the first special 'BMO', the sentient computer-robot has a unique adventure of her own. The synopsis of the episode reads, "When there’s a deadly space emergency in the farthest reaches of the galaxy, there’s only one hero to call, and it’s probably not BMO. Except that this time it is!" It seems as if BMO is the only hero around.

In the promos, BMO is journeying through space in a ship, strumming a song on her guitar and generally enjoying life until an alien encounter disrupts everything. Niki Yang returns as the voice of BMO for this special. Adam Muto is back as showrunner.

The fantasy animated TV series is created by Pendleton Ward, who also helmed the 2020 adult animated Netflix series 'Midnight Gospel'. He had made the cartoon show for Cartoon Network Studios in 2010 and after a total of 10 seasons, they ended the adventures of main characters Finn (voiced by Jeremy Shada) and his best friend Jake (John DiMaggio), a dog with the magical power to change size and shape at will.

Catch 'Adventure Time: Distant Lands' on HBO Max, on June 25. The specials will release each week, so don't forget to tune in.
