Can you imagine top global stars not able to afford anything they wish for? Well, this might stand true in the case of British crooner Adele as she recently revealed that she could not afford to buy properties in London and that is one of the reasons why she moved to LA. The multiple Grammy-winning singer's recent comments during a British Vogue left many on social media stunned.

Shedding light on buying houses in LA, the 33-year-old singer-songwriter asserted, “I wanted fresh air and somewhere I could see the sky.”  She added, “Also, once I had Angelo, in England if you haven’t got a plan with a young child and it’s raining, you’re [expletive]. And the kind of house I have in LA I could never afford in London. Ever." The singer continued, “I looked at houses. It’s like hundreds of millions of pounds. I don’t have that much money at all. I’d throw up."  Adele, as of now, boasts three ultra-luxurious homes in the Hidden Valley section of Beverly Hills, LA. “My place in London is very European. It’s like Italian or something. I don’t even want to sit down in it”, quipped Adele.

Adele has a whopping 15 Grammys to her name along with nine Brit Awards. She has sold approximately 40 million records worldwide and a few of Adele’s songs have been certified gold by RIAA. The British songstress is best known for her singles like ‘Someone Like You’, ‘Rolling in the Deep’ and ‘Hello’ among a few others. Her smash hit ‘Skyfall’ from James Bond flick went on to win an Oscar for the Best Original Song. Looking at her impressive record sales and the revenue she has generated from sell-out tour dates and brand endorsements, Adele is valued at an astonishing $190 miilion, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth.

Adele’s three luxurious properties in LA

Since Adele could not afford to buy the type of property she wanted for herself in London, she steered towards LA and invested in three stunning properties over the years. In 2016, Adele bought her first home in Beverly Hills for $ 9.5 million. According to Variety the home features four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and features a pool and summer-house. She apparently fell in love with the place as three years later, she got herself a second home for $10.65 million next door to the first.

And, in May 2021, Adele again headed to the same hood and shelled out a cool $10 million for a four-bedroom four-bathroom property that she bought from her friend Nicole Richie. Her latest house sits adjacent to her previous two homes making it a total of over 18,000 square feet. In 2012, Adele did have a house in Kensington, London that she bought for $7.8 million (£5.65 million) and then purchasing an adjacent property for $7.4 million (£5.38 million) to combine the two. She purchased her first house, worth $3.4m (£2.5 million)  ten-bedroom Sussex mansion, named Lock House, in 2012 when her career began to take off after her first album, 21. The mansion including 20,000 square feet of space, five reception rooms, two studies and a helicopter pad. The award-winning singer listed the stunning home for $10.3m and later cut down the asking price to $8.9m.

Even son Angelo gets the pick of the best playhouses. The singer splurged a whopping $20.6K on a playhouse for Angelo. Apparently, the singer fell in love with the garden toys after seeing them at her friends' homes and couldn’t resist purchasing the toy, which includes three turrets, a veranda, and its own picket fence.

Adele’s love for cars

In 2013, Adele splashed $100,000 to get her hands on a customized Porsche Cayenne, and that too after she passed her driving test at the age of 25. A source told Mirror, “Since passing her test, driving has become one of Adele’s favorite activities and she loves to cruise around London. She could afford to buy any mega-expensive sports car but, now she’s a mum, safety and reliability are her priorities.” She is also rumored to have a black Range Rover in her garage.
