'A Piece of Your Mind' Episode 10: Ha Won's just one step away from learning the truth about his mother's death
The one question that has haunted Ha Won (Jung Hae-in) since when he was in high school in Oslo, Norway, was what caused his mother's death. Why would she end up at a place where she usually never frequents? The answer to this question lies with Ji Soo's husband who seems to have committed some mistake that resulted in Ha Won's mother's death. And Ji Soo, who had promised Ha Won that she will find the truth about his mother's death, ends up finding out the truth from her husband much after the two get married and move to Seoul to help her husband Kang In-wook's career in classical music.
In Episode 10, we see how Ha Won turns out to be the first one to learn the truth about In-wook being Ji Soo's husband. Now that he has found out the truth about In-wook's connection to Ji Soo, he wants to check with him about what Ji Soo had tried to tell him and he even tries to keep it under wraps from Soon-ho and Seo-woo (Chae Soo-bin). He tries to find the truth about the day and then let it all go because according to Ha Won this is no longer about retribution or even resentment, but plain closure.
For Ha Won to move forward, he believes that this answer that has been driving him insane needs to be answered. In speaking to In-wook, that is what Ha Won hopes to find. However, because Moon-ho has begun to like In-wook, she is not objective about the entire issue and believes that Ha Won needs to give In-wook time until he manages to finish the recital. She believes that it took In-wook a long while to go through the entire ordeal of losing his wife and begin playing the piano again and Soon-ho doesn't want him to lose that.
However, she refuses to see what Ha Won feels about being just one step away from finding the answer to a question that has been a part of his life for this long.
He believes that In-wook owes Ha Won an answer, but Soon-ho is not ready to let Ha Won do anything about it. In this tug of war, Seo-woo is caught in between because she is unable to take anybody's side. When she did not know who Ji Soo's husband was, she wanted Ha Won and Soon-ho to give up on finding what Ji Soo had wanted to hide all this while. However, once she also learned about In-wook's relationship with Ji Soo, she believes now that Ha Won deserves to talk to him face to face and get it over with. So, that is what she will work towards in the upcoming episode — to ensure that Ha Won is closer to closure then he is now.
