50 Cent slams Oprah Winfrey over Russell Simmons #MeToo documentary: 'I don’t understand why she is going after black men'
50 Cent has something to say about Oprah Winfrey's upcoming spill-all documentary on Russell Simmons and none of that is nice.
After the booming success of the documentary on R Kelly's various sexual assault victims, titled 'Surviving R Kelly', Winfrey has put on her executive producer hat to bring a similar tell-tale documentary about survivors of Simmons' sexual assault, an issue that had made headlines two years ago, during the bloom of the #MeToo movement. But clearly 50 Cent isn't all praises for Winfrey as he dissed her for exposing yet another black man especially in the wake of the defamed Harvey Weinstein reaching a $25 million settlement with his accusers.
Weinstein, the media mogul who was at the epicenter of the #MeToo movement, made it to headlines back in 2017 and decided to settle in what 50 Cent has since labeled an agreement for a money grab. Spilling more on his take on the issue, 50 Cent decided to attack Winfrey, who also played an active role in the controversial documentary series on Michael Jackson called 'Leaving Neverland', something for which Winfrey received flak from multiple sources.
Noting that she is about to do an expose on another black man, while white men facing similar accusations go unnoticed by her production interests, 50 Cent shared on a since-deleted post on Instagram: “I don’t understand why Oprah is going after black men. No Harvey Weinstein, No Epstein, just Micheal Jackson and Russell Simmons this sh*t is sad. Gale hit R Kelly with the death-blow documentary. Every time I hear Micheal Jackson, I don’t know whether to dance or think about the little boy's butts. These documentary’s are publicly convicting their targets, it makes them guilty till proven innocent.”
Previously, the legendary rapper had drawn flak from the late King of Pop's family members and fans for his scathing takes on Jackson. Looks like his time he is directing all that opinionated displeasure towards Winfrey instead.
